He's best served as a starter. He buried the corner three which is his money shot. Imagine him as a starter going to the corners and getting passes from Gasol, Lebron and AD. He'll be living there.

But his defense is superb regardless.

I thought “mirroring” is what my stooopid iPhone 11 Pro should be able to do with my 2 year old Sony flat panel since it is in both their menus .... but noooooo so far no luck. As often, WTF Apple? :p

Never heard it applied to one on one D and that is awesome seeing him do it in that clip even post Achilles rupture.

I would start him alongside KCP or Caruso in the backcourt. He's here to play defense and hit 3s. He's older as well and I think sitting him is not a good idea. He's been a starter basically for the last decade so let him open the game with AD/Bron/Gasol

Showed his true value last night slowing down a red hot Booker who torched Kuz in the first half. His defense in the 3rd ignited our comeback.

Yup, he's got, what... 8 zones there? Wow.

    Also, Bron, LOL.

I'd like to see a 2000s version of this. I'd bet Kobe would hold a few mid range zones.

feel like he's a guy that needs to get more looks to get in rhythm. not sure if that will happen here or not. not many guys can just come in cold and start hitting.

it was disappointing having him miss two really good looks at key points in the game, though. felt like danny was back.

3M vs 15M to brick 3s, can't complain n green was 0-4 from 3 in Philly season opener, so we're not missing much lol

Wes will have his games. I have no doubt. He’s going from a starting role to a bench one and he just hasn’t had much time on the floor so far. I like his effort on D.

He's one of the best 3/D players in the league at this price. Don't know what you guys are expecting. He's 0/4 from three in two games. Danny Green is 0/4 in one game. Plus, I don't think Vogel has figured out how to involve Matthews into the system, yet. It seems like he's still trying to settle in. I'd actually love to see Matthews start a few games. We know KCP can come off the bench and still do what he does. Matthews needs to get some rub in with Bron and AD so he knows where he'll get his shots in and get comfortable.

I always forget when he's on the floor. A pretty unremarkable start to his Laker career so far.
