I can't imagine he won't be part of the playoff roster. They have to realize even if they want to penny pinch, the revenue for a minimum of two home playoff games and their TV share is drastically more than eating a player's salary and paying Gabriel the prorated min. Gabriel isn't the difference between us getting to the playoffs vs. not, but he is crucial in the style of play we've been succeeding with and the style Vogel wants us to play. It'll be bye-bye Baze. I think Baze gets canned instead of Ariza for 3 reasons. 1) Ariza is a voice in the locker room. 2) Ariza has meant more to Laker history than Baze... if Jeanie would rather 1 of them potentially get a ring, it'd be Ariza. 3) Stan has said he's emulated and studied Ariza tape when trying to figure out his way to stay in the league. No one has ever said that about Baze.
Yea he rolled it bad as a person who's had both ankles.broken and multiple sprains on both that look season ending like type that takes 1-2months to move w noo pain
Judy Seto has been back for a couple years and is the lead person on staff. No staff stops s*** happens type common basketball injuries.
yeah, i have questions about nunn's injury (was it misdiagnosed at any point? were there better treatment options, etc.?), but when guys twist ankles, that's just bad luck. even AD's injuries--i don't think they're about not getting the right care/attention from staff.
The young man has earned a roster spot next season IMO. Don't know what's going to happen for the rest of this one.
good point. i think we should harass judy seto's family regarding wenyen gabriel's mild ankle sprain. it's really the only way forward.
This is a tricky one for me with the fan criticism here because I feel like most fans (or at least me) go by what we're told initially and there's generally no way for the staff to really know how an individual is going to respond to an injury and treatment for it until they try it. And I think a lot of us get that, but we're obviously not doctors and have to depend on the info given and/or whatever google tells us that we can somewhat intelligently regurgitate. The concern from fans (or again, at least me) is that it usually feels like our guys are out longer than we are initially told. Nunn is the most egregious example, but yeah. I think fans have questions because it just seems like we're told a guy is going to be out a couple of weeks then it ends up being two months or something. I'd definitely be curious on the real stats of how long we were told a guy was going to be out verses how long they actually were out. I hate the level of harassment the social media age has facilitated. Just ridiculous on all levels.
I’ll tell you what, these young kids Gabriel, Johnson and Reaves are showing mental and physical toughness. That’s qualities that can be built upon going forward.
