Well great I had both HOU and the Paper Clips penciled in a couple spots lower than last year.I don't know how much Ty improves them but he's better than whoever was going to start for them.

    Jesus that team lacks defense.

I don't want him. We could have offered a better deal.

Seriously how does Morey get any credit for being a GM?

They've been worse than us in their "go for any and every free agent or available big name player" and it seems like some of these guys don't even fit with the rest of their pieces. I think they're a joke. Piggybacking off of Harden and whatever the hell Dwight provides them.

Wow....we were interested. Very weird considering he has another 2 years on his deal.

This is what I don't get about our FO. Half of our roster makes it look like we're going all in on a rebuild. Getting Hibbert, Lou, Bass, and almost Lawson with Kobe make it look like we're trying to win games now. Which one is it?

In an ideal world, we can do both. Yeah, I don't get it either.

Is this the Lakers way of trying to appease Kobe? Make it look like we're trying to acquire pieces?

"hey buddy....we almost got Ty....but the Rockets offered crap-1, crap-2, crap-3 and Denver really wanted to get rid of a future 2nd rounder"

No, it's not the Lakers way of appeasing Kobe. Lawson has 2 more years on his contract; he's a quality point guard; his character not so much, obviously. Nevertheless, the Lakers would have taken the risk because Lawson would have helped us win more games while developing our rookies. That's why we went after Lawson. Help us win games in the process while we develop our young core...

It makes sense but why not talk to Rondo this summer if that was the plan? Neither of those two are high-character guys? We didn't even contact Rondo, and he was willing to do a 1-year deal.

We contacted Rondo. Secondarily, Rondo went to Sacramento where they are overpaying for players because nobody wants to join that circus voluntarily without getting paid. Rondo's making $9.5 million with them. I don't think he would have made that with us...

Also, at time we contacted Rondo, we were still in the process of waiting for Aldridge; if I remember correctly, Sac had already snatched Rondo up...

I don't think those guys are safe at all. Let's inflate their value and trade them before the trade deadline...

Fair enough, I wouldn't have minded Lawson....hard to believe we couldn't beat the Rockets offer.

If Russell is our future at PG, why would we go after Lawson? Be glad we didn't get him. And I think he's a really good PG. But Russell needs to play. Can only learn so much from the bench.
