Give him an open three and it will go in. Therefore, I approve.

I'm not even sure that's true. Seth's reputation as a defender is pretty unearned in my opinion. His steals and blocks numbers are virtually identical to Troy Daniels'. Both of their DRtgs are bad (Seth at 114, Troy at 118). Seth's DWS are at 0.9 and Troy's at 0.1. Seth's Defensive Box Plus Minus (-1.8) is almost twice Troy's (-3.4), but that's the only stat that shows a real significant difference.

I'm not sure Seth is a much better defender, just a bit better one. And I'm not sure if that's worth 4x the cost per season.

Should throw Reggie Bullock in for kicks and giggles who's pretty much the same thing but got 2/21 from THE KNICKS who are just throwing money around after not getting anybody.

Now I just need a @trodgers report to see how this guy stacks up with the other free agents shooters.

It’ll take a little. I’m getting home, will get a workout in, and I may have to run an errand first...but you got it.

He auditions well against us but same can be said with "shooters" we acquired through the years.

    Troy Daniels:
As a FA, he would have a -12 rating, with a positional efficiency of 49.
Scoring efficiency: 5.43 (average for a wing)
    Passing efficiency: 1.79 (atrocious)
    Hustle efficiency: 2.20 (so-so for a wing)

The good: He's a solid shooter with average potential on offense as a starter. He has hit 50.6% of his corner threes in his career, and he's a good FT shooter, too.

The bad: His scoring efficiency is solid, but you have to see how he does what he does. 74% of his career FGA are threes, and the average distance of one of his FGA is 22.1 feet. He doesn't draw fouls, so he either hits a three or misses. His assist rate is painfully bad, but you might chalk that up to his role - he's a shooter. Unfortunately, he has some of the worst defensive stats I've seen among wings, like Jamal Crawford bad. A deeper dive, however, shows that he's been remarkably consistent - and opposing SGs have posted a 14.7 PER against him in each of the last three years, all better marks than the team he was on. So, maybe he's been dragged down by bad teams.
