I wouldn’t be too worried, this actually opens up time for THT. Russ / Nunn / Rondo Monk / Ellington Baze / THT Lebron / Melo AD / Howard / Jordan
when we signed ariza, i actually assumed we'd mothball him for the playoffs (i was wrong, i think), but now we're forced into it. and honestly, as jsm indicated, i wouldn't even count on that given his age and the nature of the injury. anyway, i agree that in the short-term, it shouldn't be a big deal. was really hoping to have him against paul george/kawhi/durant/etc., though. if only to dog them for 15 minutes.
It's much better that he had it now. It will heal relatively fast and he'll be available when we really need him. I mean, sure, it sucks not having him at the beginning of the season, but I seriously doubt this is what makes it or breaks it for us. As long as Bron and AD are healthy, we're good. I am not concerned about Russ, because he usually plays a lot of games and he is there to make LeBron's life easier. Guys like Ariza and Melo are important, but probably not crucial to our success -- as long as we don't have too many people out because of injuries. Hopefully that won't happen this year.
Yeah, and our first couple dozen or so games will be against easier teams, but on the flip side, those would have been good games to gel. Either way, better now than later.
It sounds like Ariza was dealing with the ankle issues for quite some time now. Why didn’t he get the surgery done during the off-season so he wouldn’t miss training camp?
Takes some pressure off Vogel to start Trevor. With Batman, Robin and the Tazmanian Devil I want some high flying speedsters in the line up. I want the championship and I want to have fun getting it...lol Might be the year to come out of the arctic and watch a live game.
And we have this phenomenon in Southern California called warm weather, in which people wear short pants. Also, our water naturally comes in liquid form. You sure you ready for this?
We're missing his size. Idk about the quality of his play given his age and especially after injury. However, if he is what he has been, he will help even if it's just for 10-12 mins a game.
