Unfortunately I saw enough of him last season to know he was likely done as a key rotational player. I will be forever grateful for his contributions in 2009.
Glad that Vogel did the right thing and sat him. He just was not contributing. He’s got to work on getting back into game shape on his own time. He wasn’t cutting it at all on the court.
Ariza is a quality guy from all reports but as much as AD getting back to improve the team, it was losing the deadweight like Ariza. He's just been so bad
Yeah I love Ariza. Always have. But he just shouldn’t be out there right now. Maybe later on. Not now.
Baze got the Ariza minutes yesterday. Not sure what that means for either one of them or our s***ty roster.
when we signed him, i figured it was for end-of-bench stuff. when i heard we were penciling him in for big minutes/starting role, i began to worry. those worries were founded.
Unfortunately, JSM, it doesn't mean anything. Vogel is in desperation mode right now, trying to find a winning combination, but other than everyone being healthy and playing just Bron, Russ, AD, Stan, Monk, Reaves and Melo... there is no winning combination of those other role-players.
.... all 7 of them? Not good for either. Starting Baze in Atlanta was a mercy "bleep" with his history there. "Bleep" = start of course.
Ariza sux azz as a fact. He is just useless out there. Amazing how Rob got so many washed up scrubs on this team and felt great about it.
Better than them going to Baze. But at that point, we'd be better off only putting 4 players on the court.
11 & 8 in 34 minutes. Wasn't pretty, but probably his best game this year. If we play him that many minutes again, he might break though Kept thinking on those missed corner 3s, man if only this was a Harrison Barnes (type). That's the missing piece for this lineup to be as good as it can get.
Yeah, his best game, no doubt. He need to play less minutes, of course, when Melo is back, but this wasn't bad.
If you are willing to defend, Vogel will pull every last good bit of you no matter how old and decrepit you look. Rondo, KCP, Bradely and now Ariza you're willing to listen and play as hard as you can he will get you going. What does that say about Westbrook, who is the first vet that Vogel whose leash is actually bringing in?
think the second one may have been "that's why i trust you". couple big shots, was nice to see. he got absolutely torched in isolation on d a couple times, though, which will be a problem. ol' tyronn lue was licking his chops there--can deploy the mismatch iso offense to great effect on us.
