I am not comfortable with Zubac getting the lion's share of minutes in the event that Lopez goes down. To be realistic, it is likely he will go down. I think Bryant has a spot on this team for that reason
Lopez has played an average of 73 games a year for the last three years. He's on the right track. I think we end up going small anyway. Thomas Bryant has amazing energy, but he's got a long way to go before he's capable of contributing at the NBA level. I'm not exactly excited about Zubac being our primary backup anymore either, but push come to shove we'll play Nance or Randle there.
Dang, that's crazy, even negotiating a one year deal with our 2nd round pick making peanuts. They are not messing around with the 2018 plan and that free agent money.
If that's the case, I have to believe they are trying extremely hard behind the scenes to trade Deng. Stretching versus trading Deng for an expiring contract is worth about $7 million in cap space. Hopefully they succeed by the trade deadline.
I like Thomas quite a bit. Seems like a good kid, has good size and some talent and skill. I hope we don't have to use him, but I still hope he's around more than a year. He's only another 19 year old kid. He's got plenty of time to grow. You've got to love someone on your team that enjoys playing as much as he does.
I agree in hoping that we don't need him much, meaning we've had a lot of injuries in our front court. But he'll get ample playing time in our AAA Team (err. G-League South Bay Lakers). Which will be great for his development.
Agreed. I'm going to be following them a little more closely than I usually do just to see how he and a couple of the other guys who might be there (Hart, Dozier) might look. Those are the kinds of guys we might need to rely on if we go two max contracts next summer.
Welcome Thomas Bryant!!! Show them what you got bro. And make them look like this emoticon and be confused what the heck they were thinking giving you a 1 year guarantee. :Headbang:
Is it a similar two-way contract the Caruso got as well? Because I don't see any time for him on the regular season squad, better off in the G-League and develop.
Nope. It's a 1+1 deal for the real team. I expect Thomas to spend most of the year with the South Bay Lakers though.
