JR and Carmelo can come, but they need to accept the vet minimum and not a dollar more. And limit them each to 10 minutes each.

Don't know why because its probably not going to work well, but I'm for Melo to LA.

Just no JR please. Get Korver, keep Bollocks, AC can shoot some and who is the rumored actual "shooter" if different from those 1st two?

The J.R. hate is unwarranted. He'll gladly accept the vet minimum and there aren't many players who are a better option than him at a vet minimum. Still a capable shooter and with 10-15 minutes, he's not going to be deep into our rotation.

Melo plays exactly like Kuzma except he has better post-up and mid-range game. Not sure how it makes sense to have these two. Melo is a rhythm player so he's not going to do well playing ~15 minutes taking a few shots here and there. Kuzma is younger, quicker, more explosive, and probably a more trustworthy option at this point of his career. Will be interesting to see if we can fit Melo into our team but the only way it will work is if he buys into the system, is contempt with playing 15-20 minutes per game, and doesn't start bickering with the coaches. LeBron will need to son Carmelo because no LBJ and Melo won't be in the Lakers.

Why not bring back Kenyon Martin, Dante Jones and Birdman? We could be the thuggets 2020.

I will say this: JR and Melo are capable of hitting open 3's. I think we will likely sign Melo. I think Korver is coming too. As long as we can grab Noel and McGee in some form or fashion to man the starting center spot, I think Melo and Korver will be OK since Kuz will be the first guy off the bench in those positions any way. Melo as the 3rd string forward isn't the end of the world. If we could get someone better with the minimum, we would. But people who play for the minimum are usually doing so because they suck.

Pretty much nailed it right here.

A bench rotation of Caruso/KCP/Carmelo/Kuzma/Johnathan Williams isn't striking fear in anyone's hearts probably, but they should at least be able to get hot on occasion and could be the best we can do if we are able to get a max player.

I just have a gut feeling that pairing Melo with LeBron is what needs to happen for Melo to have a good season. I think it's one of the only people who can get Melo to behave like he should at this point in his career. I truly believe Melo can still be the tipping point in a few games through the season. That's assuming we even come close to losing games this season once we sign Kawhi =D

...for a few laughs. Prefer last year's resident Guitar Hero instead.
