Yeah, in a game like this one you could limit Max's minutes to 10 (he was bad) and not play Lewis. That's 16 minutes. Take one or two from Rui, Vando, and Cam then you've got him up to 20 minutes.
That's exactly it JSM. He never should have been playing more than that all season. He wouldn't be as hobbled right now and he would have probably been more productive. And we probably would've won more games with more sensible lineups.
he is quality depth, but not quality starter in a pinch he can go, but quit trying to fit a square peg into a round hole
i don't want to move prince--i think he has great value as a 20mpg bench player--but it would be HILARIOUS if the only deadline move was to trade him in a way that avoids the luxury tax. the ultimate shot across the bow at ham.
oh, he's doing fine on offense. i said in another thread that he's outplaying rui in that regard and has been all year. it's that he hasn't been great on defense (in part because we ask him to do things he can't), and the coach plays him too much.
Not going to argue that take.I just want to point out, that Prince has really been an excellent signing at 4.6M. Sometimes I think folks dump on him way too much. Frankly Rob has done a phenomenal job, at collecting solid talent on the cheap IMO.
totally agree. by far the best BAE signing this year, league-wide. probably better than any mini mle i can think of, too. ain't his fault ham thinks he can guard lillard and play 30 mpg.
Great f***ing game. 0 points 0-2 shooting 4 fouls Started as the defensive ace against Steph. You can guess how that went. +/- -22
LOL... he is probably in the rotation because of his ability to ... um... rotate whatever Pimple is rotating over there on the line.
I kinda feel bad for Prince, because it seems we're constantly criticizing him for his poor play or something, but that's not the case at all. He's been playing well overall. Arguably, he's outperforming his contract. He's a good role-player in this league. The problem is simple: Ham is obsessed with starting him and playing him too many minutes. He was brought in to be a 3&D player off the bench, and he'd be great in that role. His defense is pretty solid overall if you don't put him on smaller, quicker star guards, where he has no chance. He's our 3rd best long-range shooter, hitting consistently above average % on 5-6 attempts per game. That's all valuable. If Ham could only use him, Vando, Rui and Wood properly, no one would ever complain about his contributions.
