He cannot be the best or only POA defender on the wing. He cannot be your best wing defender on the court. If he's your 3rd best in the group, he'll look really good. Second best, he's up to it for a lot of matchups. Best. No. f*** no. And the challenge... Nevermind. I'll save that rant for the Ham thread.
Rob Pelinka may need to save ham from himself once again like he did last year when he dumped BOTH Russ and Bev at the deadline to get rid of those god awful 3-guard lineups of Bev/Russ/Schroder that were flanking AD/Bron in crunch time. I like Prince - in fact, I like him a lot. Just not at 30+ minutes a night and NOT as your primary defender against the opposing team's best wing player or best guard. He is being badly misused by Ham and it's causing Laker Nation to hate him when it's not even his fault. He's never been that guy his whole career yet Ham INSISTS on him being a starter, playing 30+ minutes a night no matter HOW he plays... Just unbelievable how much of a leash this guy has....
To be clear - I want Rob Pelinka to dump Prince and Reddish for literally anything on the market just so Ham is now forced to start Vando or Rui and he plays the right guys and the right rotation. Addition by subtraction basically. Prince should only play big minutes if Vando or Rui get injured.
yeah, it's a bummer because prince has been solid, and as i said in another thread, a great value on his contract. i don't like that he's getting clowned on twitter with all the stats, but...they're just facts. i don't know why a career 20mpg player who signed the BAE can't just be that player here. what's so bad about that? tbh, he's probably risking injury playing 10 more mpg suddenly in his 9th year in the league, and he's up for another contract this summer. the numbers he's putting up aren't going to earn him more cash than what he'd be getting if he were playing the same role he's played his whole career, too. i'm just not sure how to explain what's happening here. we spent 30 million in long-term salary on young players at the same position, too.
He had a decent 3rd Q, but sweet Moses his first half was AWFUL 1st half numbers: Being in foul trouble was his most valuable contribution tonight.
Love the fact that he only played about 20 minutes tonight. Next move him out of the starting lineup and to the bench please. I honestly feel like he will play better off the bench.
That was only because of foul trouble and a bit of a blow out. He will be back at 30 minutes next game.
Both Rui and Vando played more minutes than TP because of foul trouble . I'm going to play to the lottery today
yeah, again, it's not prince's fault that our coach has asked him to be a perimeter stopper when he's not one. i'm still having flashbacks to early in the season when he was deployed against quick backcourt players. this is an experiment that was not required in order to know the truth.
I've seen that look from the sidelines to the court. That's how Nicole Richie looked at Kobe (remember that drunken in game interview?.... if not do yourself a favor and Google)
What a frickin’ joke …. all because he was an assistant on Atlanta same time as Prince was there …. keeping this guy firmly in the starting lineup with that many minutes, with his pedestrian performance both sides of the ball …. when he won’t even be here next year.
THEN WHY ARE PLAYING HIM INTO THE f***ING GROUND?! We have depth at the position and guys who need minutes.
Didn't miss Prince or his 30 minutes of play at all tonight. Still, I'd like to see him get healthy as long as he'll come off the bench and not start any more.
