Honestly, The Lakers best all around lineup at this point is probably c-Black pf-Randle sf-Swaggy sg-Clarkson pg-Russell Yet Byron has one of the in the D League and the other has been inexplicably glued to the bench for long stretches of the season.
Yeah I think it's great he went to the D-League to get some playing time. He looked a bit heavier than I remember, but he had no problem getting up. It was probably a relief to get out and play some basketball for once instead of sitting in a suit on the sideline. Why he isn't playing is one of life's great mysteries. Clearly even in the D-League you can see he'd be easily D'Angelo's most impactful pick and roll partner.
Boron is the MORON of all times ...... of all times I tell you..... for giving Tarik DNP after DNP. It's freaking criminal. Mitch scores / lucks into a young gem in his picking Black up from waivers after Houston cleared room for 1 and done Josh Smith. The guy performs last year for both damn teams as a rookie and as an athletic, strong, coordinated front court player. Small ball center perfect for our team. He's a worker and in the gym all summer bonding and working with the other young gym rats, and this m-effing TOOL won't play him. Instead he uses Bass or Kelly at the 5 early on, and then all Bass. I hate him for this alone. Right behind it the MORONIC benching and minutes cut (plan) for Randle who was cranking out double doubles and moving up the more elite rebounder charts, and Russell whom there was no reason to do it to either. Substitution patterns. It just makes my head go
I said it in one of the threads, Scott's handling of Tarik Black is a fireable offense on it's own. Forget the inexplicable benching of Randle and Russell or Kobe being given the green light to shoot without consequence. Just the way Scott has misused Black shows a deep seeded functional retardedness that is cause for termination. The only way it is acceptable is if Black porked Scott's girlfriend or something like that. Even then, keep business and personal separate.
Yeah Black isn't the interior presence that Hibbert is. He's a superior finisher and better in the screen and roll game, but with how awful the perimeter defender has been we need Hibbert's shot blocking.
I can't think of one thing Sacre does better than Black. It's a crime for him to be ahead of Black on the depth chart.
Didn't look like he had an ankle problem while he was dunking over and over in the D-League. If he had an ankle problem, ok, fine, I'll understand that, but no excuses now.
I wish someone would have asked Mitch the direct question: Why isn't Black getting more minutes despite being a hard worker, team player and more talented than over half the roster? Mitch: We trust Byron to make the proper lineups and rotations. Black is a fine young player and he will gt his chance.
Sounds like a silly excuse to keep him out when he looked great in the D-League. If THAT is the reason he's not playing, he better start getting into the lineup NOW.
Just based on athleticism, Black is an upgrade over Sacre. I'm sure our interior defense wouldn't be such swiss cheese with Black in there compared to Sacre.
What a load of horse "poops". As others noticed and commented .....why was he able to throw down like 4 jams on alley "oops" in the Defenders game and look like the answer to back up center rather than freaking Sacre and Bass???
Black's butt must be deaf because the wood is certainly not talking to him enough to get to play in a game.:Headpoint:
