Tarik just threw down a nasty alley-oop. "Tarik Black! In direct defiance of the earth's gravitational pull.". Ha ha this D-League announcer is funny.
Pretty clear that Black is the best of the three "affiliate" players. Kelly can't play D, and Brown just disappears.
Kelly is getting abused on D. And on O he just got rejected. Brown is a "3 and D" guy that can't make a 3 and I don't really notice on D.
Boron belongs in front of a firing squad for his crimes against the Lakers. Crime number1: benching Tarik.
Tarik finishes the 1st quarter with 13 points, 4 dunks. Stats don't mean a lot in this league, but it was very fun to watch.
OHHHH, awesome one hand alley-oop finish from Black just now. From the angle I didn't then he was gonna throw it down, but he did it easy. 6:24 mark of the 2nd.
It's been a good game, lead going back and forth so far, unlike the consistent blowouts of the Lakers. Tarik played well in the first, Kelly has been scoring, Brown has been invisible. Game got pretty sloppy after the first, but that's usual from my time watching the D-League. Dude on the other team named LaLanne is killing us, 6'9, long arms, bombing threes.
Black fouls out on a weak moving screen call. 19/10 on 9-12 shooting. Solid game, but he was in foul trouble a lot and couldn't really play D very hard at the end. Still, it was good to see him play again.
It was so nice to see alley-oop dunks again watching this game. I'd almost forgotten what it looked like when our team does them, I feel like we have maybe 3 as a team all season. It's an exciting aspect of the game, it can pump a team up, and we almost never do it.
I thought the Dkeague had bigger arenas to play in. That looked like high school stands. A SMALL high school.
I believe they play in the Lakers practice facility, so, no. Looks to me like they just stick a few rows of chairs along the sidelines, a few even got knocked over in this game when a player dove out of bounds to try and save a ball.
