Call me out when black hits a jumpshot or a 3 for that matter and speights makes the min, theres argument to be made when black makes $6mill

I mean, Speights was never coming here for the minimum though. If he takes that it's to stay and win in GS, same as West or Zaza would never take those deals in LA. If we have to pay the same amount for Black or Speights I take Black. Still a lot of potential there.

You guys are quite bias in regards to our own signed players. Speights has actual nba skills thats needed, his spacing. Black is just a hustle player....in general those terms are used on player who lack skill but has to exert xtra energy to make himself look useful. Even as a backup you guys make it seem like black doesnt do no wrong, tell me is doesnt constantly get lost on D?

Well, they're the 2nd or 3rd best team in the West, debatable with SA, the had injuries again last year. Between them and us there is no choice, of course you go there. Is he perfect? Of course not, but he's very good on the pick n roll, and he will get a lot of lob dunks in this offense. He's good for offensive boarding, and everyone sucked on defense last season, I think he can be better if the system is better.

We didn't sign Black to be a floor spacer, shooting three's. We signed a guy thats energy off the bench and can hold his own against other centers. He's also good on the pick and roll, he developed good chemistry with Russ and Huertas in that regard.

We have his early bird rights, we still have a ton of money available. It's not like we gave him the remaining cap space. Do you think Speights would have taken the minimum to play here?

you're getting on people for overrating our players, but you really believe that Speights would come to a 17 win team after going to the Finals twice in a row, for $3M? come on, man.

What's so hard to believe that? He took vet min from a fake contender. I know we have to over to get players here so 3mill would've gotten Speights here. Nobody was gona pay black 6mill even for 1yr, come on now. Id offer 6mill to bass, he again has actual bball skills

so...you want speights for his transition and team defense? s***, man...being too fat and slow to be close enough to foul isn't a skill.

Speights is going to give you about ~30 games of offense that makes his being on the court a net plus even though he's getting smoked on defense....

Then there is the rest of the games where his shot is off and he's getting cooked on defense and you are left wondering why you have a hole in the middle of your TV.

no, as with ezeli, the rest of the league is just completely braindead and can't understand speights's greatness.

can it be any more clear how little gs valued their vaunted bench? they let all but two of them go (the right two were retained, btw). wanna know why? because they're not good at basketball.

Khmrp, I respect the fact you rather have Bass. But, obviously they have chosen Black over Bass for a reason.

Time will tell, he's going to be asked to capitalize on opportunities to score, not create on his own to do so.

Bass is better than Tarik at every single aspect of the game.

They chose Black because he is cheaper and a little bigger to play backup C...Bass is a PF but we already have Nance and Julius, so he was overkill.

Can't help but think its a good thing the 2nd year of Black contract is a team option. If Zubac continues to progress well this upcoming year he has to be our backup big next year.

    Heck, maybe even this year...

Hell yeah I'm working out. I gave you my 7 seconds black & white vertical video footage of me hoisting a shot just beyond the free throw line.

Zubac and Black don't have to be mutually exclusive. They'd provide two totally different things. Zubac will get the next 3 years to overtake Mozgov.
