Snag a vet backup C, vet backup PG, bring back Black, and I'm happy to roll with this team.

I'm wondering if Mitch anticipated this year's free agency and gave a directive to Scott to not play him much. Keep his value low so we can keep him on a reasonable contract while tanking at the same time.

Probably not, because that would be really ****ed up to Tarik.

I'd rather just roll with Tarik and Zubac as our back-up centers. I'd like to see them develop. I don't want to see another year of Tarik as a third stringer who is so far down on the depth chart that he never gets to play.

I'm just looking for a guy who can go 10-15 a night if needed. Because if Mozgov misses a few games, I'm pretty terrified about Black and Zubac as our only Centers. They have started only a few more NBA games than you and I have. ;)

Seraphin isn't a bad player, but he had a pretty awful year last season, and he's not as much of a veteran as I have in mind. I like the idea of JJ Hickson. Not sure what his situation is, but I'd pay him handsomely for one year's service and mentorship.

So if Black is an insurance 3rd string PF/C hybrid, I guess what you're saying is, come on down Robert Sacre?

If we want a veteran center as insurance, I'd vote for someone who is a good locker room presence/teammate, maybe with championship experience, someone who is okay with giving up playing time to Tarik/Zubac, but could step in and give 20 minutes of tough play if someone else got injured.

This might be blasphemous ... but I think Kendrick Perkins would be a good pick up for big man depth and could be had for relatively cheap.

Haha i love all these proposals obviously ;)

But seriously, what about Hickson? He is even quite good, right? What money could he demand? Would he go for 10/1?

    Projected FG%: 50.4%
    Projected 3pt%: 0%
    Projected FT%: 51%
    Projected PTS+AST+REB: 14.8
    Potency (pts+ast+reb/36): 28.8
    Projected Offensive Impact: -2.7
    Projected Defensive Impact: 0.3
    Projected Value over Replacement: 0.1
Verdict: Hickson is a fairly effective scorer whose game has slipped a bit since an ACL injury in 2014. Still, he's an intriguing vet option who used to have an excellent shot out to the arc. He has struggled since the injury. Last season, in the 9 games where he saw 19+ minutes, he averaged 12.7 points and 7.4 rebounds.

I like JJ actually. He played a year and a half under Brian Shaw, so we've probably some good insight on him if we need it.

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in as a Bass type. I'm not sure I'd rather have him over Bass though if that's what we're doing. Hickson could be cheaper though.
