Activity isn't the end game though. Ezeli is more effective because he's simply bigger. Tarik runs around a lot, but when he's caught near the rim a lot of bigger Centers (Ezeli included) are able to simply outreach him for rebounds.

Tarik as a our backup is still something I'm very interested in, but Ezeli is a better player and will get paid as such this summer.

I can envision Walton coaxing Ezeli to move down here AND assuring Black he will get satisfactory minutes. I do see the former as a really poor man's Oden. Black does move around more and yes he does get outmatched. This is where Walton earns his stripes by showing him the angles and timing so he can negate the disadvantage somewhat. Black does enjoy his tutelage.

I think if we're coaxing someone it's probably Barnes. I think the Lakers would like to steal Barnes or Ezeli this summer by going all out and putting a max on one of them. Maybe if we can nab DeRozan, you get Ezeli and if you can nab Horford, you get Barnes?

Ezeli AND Barnes would be a good haul...get Walton to a nice start plus there is familiarity with both parties. The big selling point besides the financial ramifications of the move is that Ezeli is guaranteed a starting gig while Barnes will get out of the shadows of Curry, Thompson and Green. Barnes can lead the kiddie corps plus he can man the three spot.

Black will be open to stay because of Walton.

True we could go that route. I feel like the Warriors would match on one of them though. I'm not sure they let both of them go.

It would definitely be nice to get both of them but I agree.

GSW ain't letting us get 3 of their assets in one off-season (Luke, Barnes, Festus)

More likely Barnes because he is essential in their defensive schemes when they do their switches... He, Iguadala and Green form one hell of a trio. I think Black would do well in the same system defensively for Walton so there... :) Not sure how fast Ezeli can cover for Randle AND Clarkson.

I think having Iggy makes it more likely G.S. lets Barnes walk vs pay the max. I do think they match on Ezeli possibly. Their other center isn't an 82 game or 30 minute guy any more.

The idea for Golden State was for Barnes to take on Iggy's responsibilities as Iggy got older and Barnes improved. Hopefully we can do what we did with Luke and steal him away before Golden State's dream scenario plays out.

I've wanted Barnes forever, and I thought they might just let him walk and keep Ezeli, but now I don't think so given Ezeli's knees. Would love to steal him but I see GS matching for him.

    Bumped.

Glad to hear we want to keep Black. He didn't get fair treatment under Boron even though he was our best pick and roll big. Hope he stays!

I think he can be a nice role player for us in this offense, glad to have him back.

it will be late, and probably 5 per or less. wouldn't surprise me if they kept him at QO.

That's the best option. Keep him at the QO and see how he does this season.

They already have a relationship and they do get along very well. Tarik speaks highly of Luke.

I want to keep him as our 3rd string center. He also serves as a backup PF in case Randle/Nance gets injured.
