Yea they showed Trey and Melo yesterday and Trey caught some flack for messing around. These guys are human and want to have fun with their buds like the rest of us. I like seeing the lighter side
It is a game after all. In the words of Baseball great Willie Stargell: “It's supposed to be fun, the man says 'Play Ball' not 'Work Ball' you know." Dudes are working enough as it is, let em play.
Games rules should have been modified to you can only use your left hand in these pick up games, THT. That would add some real value for him
I think he and Giancarlo Stanton are the only two who have hit balls completely out of Dodger Stadium, right?
It’s a joke we make. It’s leftover from the summer Magic told our players he wanted them all to get down to a certain percentage of body fat.
Talen is looking svelte https://lakersnation.com/lakers-vid...-to-show-out-at-chi-league-pro-am/2021/08/27/
the stepback threes are nice. he won't need those in his current role (would like to see him just catch and shoot some), but if he gets that shot down, he's a 20ppg scorer with his strength, handle, and finishing ability. he's harden-esque in those ways already.
I feel like he won't get a fair shake here. He and his fairly sizable contract might be moved in case a Beal or Lavine or another swingman star might be available
Under contract, learning from some all time greats while young he might not get the opportunity he wants right away, but if he is who we hope he can be, he'll push his way into the lineup and refuse to be denied
we don't have enough other salary, tbh. i think he'll get a fair shot if only due to the fact that he's the only guy outside the big three in whom we invested any money.
I see the worry, we have competition across the 1 to 3. And based on our big 3, we need to surround them with shooting, something THT hasn’t done well so far. I don’t see him beating out Nunn at the 1 and I feel they’ll give Monk and Ellington some burn to start with because of their shooting prowess. Is he big enough to play SF consistently to beat out one of Bazemore or Ariza? I think that’ll largely come down to his defence at the 3.
Kobe having to scrap for minutes against Eddie Jones, Van Exel and crew only made him better. THT is young. His day will come, and I don’t think he will be denied. Competition is good.
The one take away other then losing the baby fat is the jumper looks smoother with less motion. Hopefully that translates The guy really does have star potential if he adds a jumper that teams has to respect: he's already so good at getting to the rim With all these old guys, it wouldn't surprise me that the biggest revelation of the upcoming season is that THT growing his game is the most important development for the Lakers.
