^Nash with the Pee Wee Herman threads. Sad that Nash isn't the same player who gave the Laker defense fits back in 2010 and never will be again...
Ironically Steve has most of the Laker's fans willing to pack his bags and carry them to any desination outside of the L.A at the moment. I hope the bag that hurt him wasn't that executive man purse in Time's photo. Maybe it was a carpet bag filled with 10 million dollars. Dang it, I said I was going to stop bagging Nash.
On the humane side of things, I feel awful for Nash. If anyone that is hurting the most in terms of mentally and feeling totally crappy, it's him. But I do agree he shouldn't be playing anymore not just for the better for the Lakers but so he doesn't further hurt himself.
The Lakers list Steve Nash as a probable starter Sunday - though that's gotta be as loose a use of the word probable as there is This according to Pincus. Why? If Lin can go, he should be starting an soaking up all the minutes with the first unit. I am very disappointed to hear this...
I can not understand why he would be the starter. I would take Price or Clarkson honestly. Nash should be coming off the bench and maybe closing games if his shot is going.
This falls on Scott after this point, IMO. If a guy can't carry his bags, how can anybody expect him to play through a game much less an 82 game regular season. It's preposterous.
No doubt. At this point it is time to just acknowledge that we tried to put together a big three of Nash, Howard, and Bryant but it didn't work out. Nash just can not stay healthy and there is no point in the team being stubborn about it. Time to make the best of this and use him when we can. It just makes no sense to try and rely on him as a starter. Worse, it takes minutes away from younger and better (at this stage in their careers) players.
Maybe Scott's pushing him to break down so he can help the team via injure player exception. No clue otherwise.
He's not pushing him to so he could breakdown; what Scott is doing is trying to give a former 2 time MVP a chance to prove himself before Scott rules him out the entire season and considers him a non-factor. That's probably his mindset; however, Scott was around last year on Time Warner and knows about Nash's injury history; he knows he's already had trouble this preseason with his nerve injury. More importantly, he knows Steve just hurt himself moving bags around his home...Nash is done and has been done. The sooner Scott deem him a non-fact, which I think should have already been done, the better for all of us. Let's move on and develop some of our other players instead of watching Nash try to get in and out of the starting lineup.
next time we get a former super star legend on his last legs that continuously injured. its formally going to be labeled "Nashty Status" all jokes aside, i wasn't too keen on getting an older player, but with potentially having a super team within nash, kobe, ron, pau, coward. i was really excited, really disappointed at how that season went.
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- In his first public comments in nearly a week, Los Angeles Lakerspoint guard Steve Nash said Saturday his health issues aren't as severe as those that kept him sidelined for all but 15 games last season. But it remains unclear when Nash, who specifically has had trouble with his back, will rejoin the Lakers for a preseason game or even to practice. He last played in an Oct. 12 exhibition loss to theGolden State Warriors, though he asked out of the game, saying something didn't feel right. Nash, who at 40 is the NBA's oldest active player, hasn't practiced with the team since. The team also stated that Nash tweaked his back carrying bags earlier this week. "I expected things to happen. It's inevitable with everything I've gone through that there's going to be issues adapting back to the game," Nash said before practice at the team's facility. "On the other hand, I did get through seven or eight hard days well, which I didn't do last year. So there is some improvement, and if I can adapt continually once I heal up here, I'll be back on course." Coach Byron Scott ruled out Nash for the Lakers' exhibition game Sunday against Utah. "I really don't know what the future holds for Steve right now," Scott said. "The one thing I do know, like I said, in talking to him, [is] he wants to play. He wants to play badly." Because of back, knee and hamstring issues, Nash played in just 65 of a possible 164 regular-season games the past two seasons with the Lakers. "Eventually you've got to play; that's what we're here for," Nash said. "I've definitely had a struggle the last week, but I think I [need to] stay optimistic and see what I can do this week to get better and get back on the court." Nash decided not to retire this offseason and instead returned to the Lakers, who will pay him about $9.7 million in the final year of a three-year, $28 million deal. Nash also said this summer that he believes this season -- his 19th -- will be his last. "I think we are all fearing it throughout the year, we didn't know when this might take place, we didn't know if it was going to be November or March," Scott said. "Very optimistic when we started training camp because he did look great, unbelievable shape, just moving up and down the floor with what seems like no hitch whatsoever. Obviously everybody here is disappointed, nobody more disappointed than Steve Nash." http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=11723241
This shouldn't come to a surprise to anyone. On the bright side maybe Clarkson will see more time on the floor and it will help develop him quicker.
Billy Mac was talking during the 4tb quarter tonight about Nash, and how he was out before the game taking and making all kinds of shots. Just announcer talk, pointing out he's working hard, nothing wrong with that. Still, I don't give a crap if he makes shots, he can't defend to the point that he's a liability and makes us 4 on 5 when on D. Stay away Steve.
