How good is that source? And if true then there must be a time stipulation how long have to wait. If we could I'd drop Ryan for sure to have him back. Defense is the only thing going to keep this boat afloat toward making the playoffs until/if possible trading Russ for some package infinitely more useful than him to this team.
There's 29 other teams with a minimum of 12 players on their roster. At a bare minimum, there are 348 players I would take over Pat Bev.
What a terrible trade lol. THT still isn’t very good, but I’d take him over Beverly as well, just because that would mean Bev isn't on the floor for us. Can’t believe there wasn’t a better deal out there for those players, and that we just tossed in a 26 year old SF who can guard all 5 positions. I don’t care if it was for salary matching, don’t make the stupid trade then, guys like that don’t grow on trees, we need them right now.
reserving judgment until bevs is rehomed. if we can move him for something of value, then getting of THT's contract was important. if not. good lord.
It's a pity that so many basketball fans think that what matters in a basketball team is only the 48 minutes they play every 2 nights. I believe Bev has been important in setting the tone of our defense who have been generally very good. He also seems to emulate Darvin's mindset. We severely lack leaders in our roster. Especially with Ham being a new and unproven coach who had to gain the trust of LeBron and AD who had to be the firsts to buy in to this new culture. Unfortunately he has been very bad when he plays. He also has a good tradable contract so at this point it's a good decision to trade him. He did play an important part in building this group's identity, imo It's like, for people sports are just the game we see playing. I don't know if it's because of too much video games, but there's so much around sports apart from the game itself. Culture, chemistry, leadership, communication, etc etc. It's the combination of those pieces that make championship teams and you can see in all the champions. That's why the forced big 3s don't work, for example. But they work in 2k for sure. Plus, it's not like THT is balking out. He has been as horrible as Bev actually
Oh no. The street charlatan has conned yet another. There is no amount of fake hustle or self promoting rah-rah b******* you can pull out of your a** off the court that can counterbalance being the worst starting PG in the NBA. But wait... there's more, he's anchoring down the pairing with DS making that statistically the worst backcourt in the NBA. But wait... that's more, he's relegated Walker (our 3rd-4th best offensive player) to a poor catch and shoot-er when he's starting. Think Jim Jackson when we got him in LA. It's that bad for Walker in those lineups. But wait... there's more, it moves Brown to the bench where he looks lost and miscast. It's one thing to be a stage 4 cancer, but this bum bandit torpedoes three other players who are directly affected by his play. He hasn't set anything. That is AD. He is an awful defender. You can't be awful at something as a player and be the culture setter for that thing. Do you want Matthew Stafford coaching up the defensive ends? It's the same thing. If you think Bron, AD, and Ham need a vocal leader in the locker room then sign Rondo to be your 14th man in a Haslem role or designate an assistant coach for that job. Hell, give Ham an emotional support dog. What you don't do is allocate $13m for that job to an individual who is not a NBA caliber player at this stage in his career. Ham had Bron, AD, and Russ buy in from day one. Don't think he needed good Ole Bev to smooth that over for him. Bev helped build our identity? As the 13th seed in the West? I don't know where we'd be without him. You are right, THT isn't looking good. I was fine moving him. There were better options. I'm also not going to be too difficult on players who regress on teams that are trying to be bad (Ainge couldn't even tank properly). THT is better than he's playing. Stan is better than Bev and that's a problem because we're scouring the league for anyone of that size right now. Please refrain from talking about Pat Bev and championship culture. That's disgraceful to the sport. He's a thug and one of the biggest pieces of s*** as a player and human to wear the Lakers jersey. He's a hybrid mosquitoe/Chihuahua with Don King aspirations. Nothing more.
LOL …. I liked Pika’s post for its logic and nuance and then JSM’s I knew early on I probably would be doing with that as well. By the time I finished it felt like a nuclear blast. Impressive. Reminds one of your purest of all hates …. He who shall go unnamed Devean George
Yeah. Should have had Caruso still along with Reaves and Johnson still along with Gabriel. Dirt f****** cheap collectively but what a huge difference it would make with our rotations. Oh wait …. never mind we’ve got Hold My Beer Ham running the show.
Where would he play? In front of who? Johnson fit with the team full of old guys but the roster situation is totally different now.
we're discussing this elsewhere, but i'm not sure it's possible given the rules. if it were, i'd gladly take him over every other name on the market right now.
Still not picked up? Do not understand how he could have been shooting the 3pt % he was with the defense and strength and size he brings and be in this situation.
