I don't have to embrace it. Why would I wrap my loving arms around a giant pile of crap...with corn in it?

He has not been okay on the court.

    BPM: -1.2
    WS/48: .063
    TS 52.4%

Piss poor IQ, a style of play that is not conducive to winning basketball, all for $44 million of our cap.

Shocking how clueless Lebron, AD, and Pelinka are to building a basketball roster.

It still makes more sense, than giving up two players and a 1st rd pick, for Buddy Hield. Hield and Barnes...not a bad idea

vorp and bpm, not perfect obviously but useful stats. Can get them a few places but bball ref is where I often go.

not much can be done differently. I think any two of our stars could find a way to play together and could be built around. The three of them drag each other down.

He's looking like the out of control Westbrook from October again

He just has nothing in the half-court if it's not a lay-up. Teams just play way off him.

It's just unfathomable that we'll have Jordan, THT, and him out there at the same time.

He also hit guys in the hands, in the correct play for a wide open jumper, that they continued to miss on multiple occasions too. Can't blame Westbrook for guys missing shots.

Russ didn’t have a great game last night. He certainly wasn’t alone but the turnovers were really bad.

I loved how he started the game. He was the most aggressive player on the court during his first rotation. It tapered off a bit in the second quarter and a lot in the second half, but I liked the energy and pace he got us to out of the gates.

He has the worst on/off numbers of any rotation guy on the team at -5.6.

And it's easy to see why.

Can't shoot, struggles to create offence in the half-court, dreadful decision-maker and is a poor defender.

He's simply not a guy teams can win with.

not a team that wants to play a center and doesn't employ three snipers who can defend. it takes a specific roster construction for russ to work. we don't have it.

But he's been to the playoffs in almost every season of his career, and to more conference Finals than CP3 in less amount of time? Westbrook is 6-4 in the first round, 4-1 in the 2nd round in the Western Conference playoffs.

    By comparison
CP3 is 7-6 in the 1st rd and 2-5 in the 2nd round.

This you can't win with Westbrook narrative is false and gets entirely too much airplay.

Dude is 2nd in the NBA in points created this season He is a facilitator, not a Steph Curry, Dame Lillard type of scoring point guard.

That's not true. OKC, Houston and Washington weren't all the same specific roster makeups at all.

    Argh I hate watching him.

Plays so out of control and I was hoping he could be a plus defender but he's just not

okc i'll give you, though they were an 8 seed with him oscar robertson-ing it. houston literally traded a valuable center so that they could score points with russ in the lineup. washington was playing non-centers most of that year, iirc.

also, all of those teams were unsuccessful. the premise was "to make it work", which would mean being a contending team. you need a very specific roster makeup once russ is your pg. not sure how this is debatable, tbh. his lack of shooting dictates a lot of stuff on offense.

Realistically...how many teams in the West were legit contenders once KD went to Golden State? Before that it was OKC and Golden State. OKC played in the Finals before the Warriors came up. So unsuccessful applied to everyone in the West other than GS, Houston and OKC correct? Houston couldn't break through with CP3. Why would Russ make them get them past the Lakers? I'm saying the narrative doesn't really match the facts. Russ has a better playoff record than any guard in the West besides Steph.
