Out of curiosity is that directed at me and standing up for Russ as not the worst thing since sliced bread?

i think he was making a genuine statement. and he may be right; i don't frequent other forums, and obfuscation in service of preferred narratives may be worse elsewhere.

    Nope.
I blasted him hard for the first few weeks because he was all over the place. Since he’s settled down, and been mostly good on offense, I’ve learned to live with the passes to fans sitting in the court side seats.

Haha! I can’t fault you, you’ve been true to your word and when his play improved you’ve been fair. I appreciate that.

Think there's anything to this "Lakers discussing trading Westbrook" rumor? I was hard on WB in the beginning, but he is getting in his groove and killing it! Always putting in the work, even if he still frustrates me with choices sometimes. I don't see how it's even possible money-wise, tbh.

In addition to all that....I do NOT want Ben Simmons instead

I do NOT think there is anything to these rumors.

Maybe it was “discussed” in the sense that I’m sure management has been brainstorming all ideas and probably went down a checklist of all players, got to Westbrook, and quickly determined there would be no feasible trades for him, and then moved on.

But other than that, that report screams “clickbait”.

    Nope.
They are going to give this trio at least one season to see how far they can go. They have given up too much not to.
Ben Simmons is not an option for this team, even if we had the assets to trade for him.

Still think it was a favor to Klutch to generate interest in the story.

Also, what also could have been a favor to Klutch, I could see Rob reaching out as an interested 3rd party to help get something facilitated for Ben elsewhere but where we can get/give an asset to one of the primary two teams

You thought spacing was bad with our current lineups.... oh man.

He's a perfect fit next to Dame. Everyone is dumb for not making that happen yet.

I don’t mind him as the 3rd guy, back up facilitator plus his defense is excellent

No chance it would happen, we have the more immovable player in Russ.

He's on the books till 2025. Being stuck with him as AD's next sidekick with a post Bron Lakers is something I have zero interest in.

He's a liability on offense from anywhere. He couldn't handle the playoff pressure in Philly. Those bright lights in LA shine different when the expectation every year is championship.

Nah Simmons is younger bigger version of Russ: spacing issues would remain the same just Simmons would be in the dunker spot way more.
If that move is available which I think no way in hell it is (Philly has no reason to do it), it's a no brainer IMO. When people look at Simmons they are seeing that one bad last series and yes it was bad but outside of shooting he's a physical marvel whose mentality is perfect for a 3rd guy (wants to run, pass the ball, and defend)

An AD,Lebron, Simmons would be the greatest defensive frontcourt in NBA history. I mean that is literally terrifying, Bron would be the small guy who is the worse defender of that group!

Assuming he wants to do those things.
You have way more basketball knowledge than I do, so I'll defer to your knowledge here as a great option, but every athlete knows no matter what sport it is.... You can't teach heart and quitters don't quit just once.

I hope I'm wrong. But knowing he had that in him, would the team ever feel like they could depend on him in crunch time? And if they're all just waiting for that day he quits, what's that going to do to team cohesiveness. He's a landmine.

I could see our “interest” in Ben being part of a Klutch favor.

But I feel like it’s widely perceived that Lebron and AD picked Westbrook. So signaling that we would consider moving him already wouldn’t be the best look for Klutch IMO.

I don't think he's a great guy and I think the way he's behaved is a gallon full of weak sauce but this isn't Philly. Lebron is the lead here and you have guys like Rondo (I really enjoyed the Ringer article on Reaves where they talk about Rondo) who is basically a player/coach. In other words as a #1 or #2 hell no, but as a third guy my goodness.
