Feels great to have a game like this so early in the season. Perfectly encapsulates why we made the trade. No stress resting Bron if Russ can step up and play like this when he’s the primary playmaker.

That dunk in OT was electrifying, clutch 3 in the fourth. Also felt like there were a handful of possessions in the first half where he was extremely close to getting a few more nice assists but just narrowly missed the timing of the pass. Would’ve been a triple double otherwise, but that timing will come with time.

There was 2 threes late in the fourth where Reaves and Monk missed that would of been automatic assists to Russ too.

I would perfectly happy to see him as a 15/11/10 guy when Lebron plays and like this when Lebron sits!!

    First off, 3 TOs only.

Second, only shot 4 threes in an over time game.

Thirdly, 17 shots at the rim with 11 makes.

    ——

Westbrook is in a no win situation. If he gives you 15/8/8 with Lebron at 25/7/7 and AD at 25/12. People are going to say that we are overpaying for a past his prime, no shooting player and should of got Heild who can shoot instead.

If he gives you 25/10/10 and takes the ball out of our other stars hands, people are going to say that he is a stat padder and doesn’t care about winning but only about triple doubles.

But this is why we got him, if one of our stars sits, he can take over and if one of them has a bad game he can step up. It’s star depth and redundancy.

Break out game from Westbrook! Just what we hoped for with Lebron out. Great stuff!

We were screwed last season most of the time when LeBron was out, games like this are where Russ shows his worth. Going to be a long season, hopefully all these skilled players mean we are still fresh come playoff time.

The Westbrook AD tandem is a good one. They are a great fit together. Now we just have to figure out how to get the best of our big three. I still think they should be staggering their minutes more between Lebron and Russ. Lebron is already playing too many minutes in general. Lower his workload and play Russ more during the regular season.

i know it won't happen, but bron and westbrook shouldn't be on the court together at the same time unless it's in the final minutes of a close game

    I would say the opposite
I'm not a fan of closing games with Russ. Change my mind

Bron can adapt to whatever, I envision him roaming around dropping bombs from behind the arc, more than he ever has in his career. I believe that he really wanted Russ, so that he could take the role of barging into the paint wrecking havoc that he's carried. That's Russ's strong suit, I think this trio is going to work out great by the playoffs. If AD doesn't kill himself trying to prove a point about playing 5.

As an amazing athlete with overpowering strength at his position Russ really is like a smaller version of LeBron. Does NOT suck to have both on our team regardless of flaws.
