Imagine the arrogance to see this fail year after year after year, and to think, but we can make it work.

Act like pros, stop throwing the guy under the bus, he's already dead.
Just say thank you for your service, good luck in the future and move on.

...one thing for sure, that is going to be some press conference when he finally signs some where.

I was incredibly glad to see Russ go, but yeah, that was incredibly unnecessary by McMenamin, you could even tell he was a little shaky when he said, should have just let it be

McMenamin’s choice of words was corny and a sleazy ploy for clicks.

But I 100% buy the underlying point he was making, and what has been echoed by other reporters: Russ was creating a tense and toxic locker room situation.

Is this really that unbelievable? We’ve all seen it for the past few years. He pouts and never takes real accountability, he’s taken passive aggressive shots at Lebron and AD before, his refusal to come off the bench is probably what got Vogel fired in the first place. It’s not surprising at all that this negative energy ramped up as it became clearer that we were desperately shopping him.

And reporting on how a max level player is affecting the locker room dynamics should 100% be fair game for journalists. This idea that LA media should just shut up, say thank you, and push this “he was a great professional, just a bad fit” narrative is weak.

And Nina has pulled that “how do I explain this to my kids” card too many times. Sorry but it’s a lame ploy for sympathy. She’s acting like people are calling him a racial slur or something.

“Your dad is a superstar in his very public industry and people are criticizing his performance. We think it’s unfair because dad tried his best, but it is what it is, it’s not a big deal.”

If you can’t handle that convo, you’re not built for the NBA.

Poor martyr Russ and dumb Lakers some didn’t feel “optimized” him properly. Bull bleep. Russ got plenty of minutes to play PG exactly how he wants to and how he can at this stage of his career. What else can you do for the guy. At times he’s still brilliant and a superstar force in some things he does on the court. But those times are wildly inconsistent and the bad Russ things now tend more often than not to cancel out and even become an overriding minus sometimes to the good he can do. There’s absolutely nothing the Clippers can do to change that balance now in his performance…. but being better shooters than what he had here prior to the trade should help his performance. We’ll see if he can cut down any on the bad stuff. And they always kick our a** anyway so if he helps in any any games it still is what it is until we stop choking in them.

Nothing new here , they all knew about Westbrook AND wasted one full season and 2/3 of the following one

Lakers FO and top players made the same mistake twice .

Incompetent people never admit and own their mistakes

this is why i don't like hearing about feeling sorry for lebron. i really think it's possible he tried to deal AD for KD, too, and that might cost us this summer as much as the russ deal cost us two summers ago.

anyway, i'm sure tyronn christ will have russ humming in no time.

I agree with you, and wasn’t trying to defend Russ, I just thought he could have used a different word than vampire, came off as unnecessarily dramatic or something, sounds silly and unprofessional.

Good. Not the Clips. Just in case his hate got lucky and turned productive against us in an important playoff game  (yeah I know) against them should it come up.

Miami would be the better fit, they need point guard help badly with Lowry's age showing.

if he worked there, we'd never, ever, hear the end of it.

i'm not sure he's a good fit in either of those places. he needs to be on the floor with 4 shooters, imo. i'm a little surprised dallas didn't test the waters there. most of their rotation are shooting threats, so he could have plenty of space to operate. and they've abandoned defense.
