Russ had success defending Luka. Mainly in ball denial and forcing him to pass to someone else to create. That’s about the best you can do.

Those missed layups in crunch time were fouls but the refs swallowed the whistle. In both instances Russ collapsed the defense which allowed Gabriel to get the offensive rebound and score plus draw a foul. I prefer that than him or Bron just settling for threes.

Yeah..I thought that Lebron would eventually get, that he's not who he was a few years ago, and start doing some things differently. He hasn't gotten to that point yet it seems.

To be fair, AD not being around plays into it too. Anthony is the guy with enough weight to tell Lebron " Hey man, get me the damn ball!!".

He's missing in action again though.
Russ is going to defer to Lebron, it is what it is, most fans prefer that anyway.

Before any dimwit comes here to pile on Russ... Russ did very well this game and then went crazy on the last play. Expected.

Humb should be fired for this crap.... not calling a TO immediately.

Lebron could have called a timeout. He's a 20 year vet. He could have cut into the lane and opened up a passing lane too. I hate the end of the game, every one stands around the 3pt line watching one guy dribble stuff.

I put it on him for not doing his part, as the 20 year veteran leader, he was just standing around looking too.

Yes Ham should have called a TO though.

Embiid looked liked he fouled him pretty good but I admit I didn't see it in real-time either. Sucks

He's right, but that's not the play or player I want to have the ball in our final play. Refs aren't giving us that call. Ever.

Tough to go out like that. Back to back games where the refs stuffed us. That's a foul.

Just like the Troy Brown end of regulation was a foul. Damn it man, how many games are we gonna lose over stupid stuff like missed FTs or missed fouls.

What a gargantuan dismality of an end of a game. As soon as Russ got it I yelled at the TV, "Call timeout!" When he kept dribbling - almost lost it dribbling, too - I yelled out "Pass it!" When he kept dribbling, I screamed "You best make it!" And...we all saw it. Russ: un-clutch HoF, first ballot.

That's easily 4 games: AD could've iced games w/FTs against BOS and in PHI; the DAL game we probably got effed by the refs, and if that photo isn't doctored, the one showing Embiid holding Russ's forearm, that's another zebra job...which, if they call it, Russ probably bricks 1 of 2, we go into OT and...we haven't been winning in OT, have we? Also: Russ shouldn't even have been on the floor, much less taking the ball all the way up the court and not passing with the game literally on the line.

It's probably more than 4. The refs don't like us (coughdonaghy?cough) and we play like imbeciles in the last 3 minutes of very close games all too often.

Good teams win all four of those, though.

Man, it seems like after the 2020 championship, it's been nothing but hoping we can get to .500 Whatta long frustrating trip it's been, too.

it's a bad non-call. we've lost two consecutive games on them at a really important time. it sucks.

and no, it's not an excuse that "you're not going to get that call". dwyane wade got a ring from getting these calls when they didn't even happen! so people do indeed get these calls.

just more bad luck. and i think that was the subtext of embiid's comment about it, too.

Except for the part where Embiid completely grabs his arm.. Fairly obvious. Questionable L2M report.

Not mad at Russ at all he got fouled blatantly.. It's tough the refs won't give him or James calls. One of them needs to take a fine against them..
