need to find ways to help him maximize our undertalented bigs via pick and roll when lebron's sitting.

we're not going to be able to defend anybody. we have to score.

Even though he flirted with a triple double, thought it was a bad Russ game. Not bad enough to where he's detrimental with a slew of mistakes and TOs but he certainly wasn't helping us either.

He can't close cause he struggles when they put centers on him.

Russ should've been running the PnR since day 1 of his career in purple and gold. I really dont understand what goes in on in this dudes head.

    Russ’ defense tonight:
    1. doesn’t fight around screen-Avdija scores layup.
    2. Sags back 5 ft from Avdija-he scores a three
    3. Fights for rebound with LeGM, ball goes out of bounds
    4. Doesn’t fight around screen, loses Kuz and he lobs to Gafford for dunk
    5. Blocks Kispert three
    6. Drifts into lane when shot goes up- ball bounces right to his man- offensive board
    7. Not within 7 feet of any player- Kuzma three
    8. Porgy goes in lane, comes out for three- Russ is 8 feet from his man on same side and closest to Porgy- doesn’t rotate over- three ball by Porgy
    9. Doesn’t get back on D- Kuzma wide open three
    10. Steals from Porgy

    11. I honestly think those who have considered bringing Russ back next year never watch him on defense. He’s easily the worst defensive player I have ever seen- mostly because he just doesn’t give a sh$t on that end of the floor. He’s only there to camp out near the lane so he can grab a rebound.

If there’s a Russ deal out there that doesn’t involve picks, I do it. Unless it’s for absolutely garbage players, I do it. He still makes awful passes, he still doesn’t play defense, he still can’t shoot and can’t finish close games when the other team puts a center on him. And no way in hell do I want him back next season, no way in hell.

I'd say that's pretty dead on balls accurate. Either he is hot or straight garbage.

Russ was pretty bad tonight. Darvin sat him for the final 7 mins, and we won (luckily) by two. That lame-o pass into Kuz's ankle by Lebron could've easily have been by Russ. What a way to lose that wouldda been! If the ball bounces in another direction: A breakaway dunk/probable loss on a stolen pass on the Lakers' last possession. Instead, Lebron regains possession and whips it to TB for what proved to be the win. (Although I really thought Kuz would hit that last shot...'cuz this season.)

I had mentioned this before, we should throw a damn parade when this man leaves our beloved purp and gold.

There are fans that are praising him and giving him excuses for last season. Immediately tells me either they can't comprehend the game of ball or dont watch the games. We all know 1 friend that puts in his 2 cents, never watches the game, gets his info from BSPN headlines and gets angry when he gets called out.

In a game without AD, Bev and possibly Reaves, Russ was benched with 7:19 remaining for a 19 year old 35th pick in the 2nd round. Quite the indictment of how poorly he played in the 2nd half.

And the incredulous old timers calling the game for ESPN and TNT musing it’s beyond them why “you” (the coach) would not have/want (insert usual out of context for current performance in game at hand) “HOF credentialed” Russell Westbrook in your lineup? …. while their camera shows him on the bench in normal rotation time.
