Of course no worries. He also talks about other trades, sign and trades etc etc. But maybe I misunderstood as well. If so my bad

Russ in the paint against opposing point guards, is going to be a nightmare. What do you do, send help and leave Lebron or AD?

might be the leading scorer, rebounder, and assist guy

might still average a triple double

Might be Batman to our pair of Robins

There is definitely a situation where Russ is our best player for the next two years. That involves Lebron coasting and us limiting AD's minutes in the regular season. In the playoffs I can't see him being more important than Lebron unless he sets up the majority of the offence, while combining the defence from his last season in OKC and his shot selection from Houston.

Just as equally, he could be a poor fit and very inefficient. I think somewhere between those two scenarios is most likely.

Russ is still one of the elite players in the NBA, barring injury there is simply no way this trio isn't a smashing success. This is a better fit than the Nets IMO

rival executives have absolutely no bias, particularly when it comes to the lakers, the league's most successful and glamorous franchise, helmed by an attractive former agent and led on the court by one of the greatest players of all time and a perennial mvp candidate who forced a trade there.

it's just about basketball and fit, people.

"anyway," the executive said begrudgingly, "i guess i still pick the lakers...BUT THEY MIGHT NOT WIN AND I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER THAT! THEY LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND LAST YEAR!"

later, quiet sobs were heard from underneath a pile of late first round draft picks.

Not so long ago we were in the very bottom of the league. I am not following other teams at all so I wouldn't really know, but I guess our past few years have to be one of the best successfull turnaround stories in NBA history. Did our FO get any real recognition during that time span from "experts" and "executives", in any of the years since Bron arrived? It seems to me we are being ridiculed year after year and we just somehow stumble into being one of he title favorites.

it's funny because they derided the lakers' brand as "dead" during the down years, then claimed all our success since then is basically because of the brand.

    pick a lane, losers.

Yup, we also had some members stating exactly the same, don't remember who anymore, probably left to some Clipper boards in the meantime.

One of many reasons we will win the championship. With Russ our big three will turn on a ferocious defense when needed. Russ is ferocious all the time. What happens when the nets big three crank up the D? Not much.. Harden doesn't know what it is. Kyrie will break. Durant will turn and look after Russ or Lebron blow by him in time to see AD dunk a lob. It is a 4-5 game series.

I'd feel a lot better about Westbrook had his FT % not gone from over 80% average his first 9 seasons to 65%.. i think he's shot 65% for two seasons and 70% another in the last 3 years. I don't understand what's going on there, it has to be mental. Same with Lebron, it's quite an issue given the amount of time these guys will have the ball in key situations.

I have faith Russ will have it figured out this season. Can't wait to see him penetrate defense(s) and find A.D./Bron.. could be legendary.

Yeah, missed FTs are a major pet peeve for me.

    Last five seasons:

    85%
    74%
    66%
    76%
    66%

Yeesh. Not Lonzo Ball #s, but yeesh! (Though Ball did get it up to 78% last yr)

Huh? I’ve lived here my entire life, all you see are Laker hats/jerseys, stickers and flags on cars, this is a Lakers town. I don’t know what you’re referring to with the Pond, maybe some preseason games, but the Lakers played preseason games there and when it became the Honda Center for decades as well and it was always packed.
