I'm literally not excited about any option except blowing it up. I think it's the best option for long term health and success. It won't happen, but I'll have to see the miracle turn around to change my mind about it.

Fortunately I will be back coaching next year and won't have to torture myself watching...lol I had way too much free time this season of all seasons.

That would be my favorite option by far. My ex is my Laker watching partner and she was such a Kobe fan that she hasn't watched a single Laker game since Lebron signed and won't till he is gone. She just said Lebron should not be a Laker and that was it...lol You would like her Sirron.

you sir, have good taste in women

I never wanted to watch a single game that Lebron played in as a Laker. Ultimately I wasn't strong enough to stay away like @trodgers , but I died inside a little every time I watched him play. Just don't like him. But for my fellow fans I took down the www.ihatelebron.com website and deleted the contents.

    I regret it.

I had some good content on there, and he would have done nothing but add to it. Narcissistic piece of crap.

Lebron is all about elevating his own profile and unfortunately he sees the Lakers as a way of doing that. I can’t wait till he’s gone. His tenure has largely been a failure and has taken the shine and allure off the Lakers brand even further than the famine years.

The sooner we press the restart button and clean house of Lebron and his influence (AD and Klutch by extension) the better the direction of this franchise. Unfortunately we are firmly stuck in the treadmill of mediocrity.

I love how some fans keep saying that he brought us a title and that’s all that matters....yet refuse to see moving forward with Lebron at the helm this team is not a title contender and he only sinks and drains the franchise further (as evidenced by the Russ trade , THT/AC re-signing goof up and failure to engage useful talented teammates like Kuzma).

I know a dozen hardcore fans like that. They kept up a little bit but the last 15 months they’ve easily been tuned out because of Lebron presence with this team. Self serving guy has made this team unwatchable to many

i would be just as thrilled if they just paid him and tell him to stay home....i see very little chance we'll be able to trade him w/o negatively affecting our future even more so

Here's an interesting idea that I hadn't given much thought to until listening to the SS&R pod today, they had a writer for the Indy Star on the episode. They brought up the possibility of a 3 team deal. Discussed how Indy has flirted with GH before and he's from Indy. Also noted how close Haliburton is with THT. They didn't discuss this scenario, but here's my play...
Lakers trade: Russ, THT, Nunn, both 1st, $3m cash
    Lakers get: Rozier, Buddy, Turner

Indy trades: Turner, Buddy, 2nd round pick
Indy gets: GH, THT, Plumlee, our 2 1sts, swap or protected 1st from Hornets

Charlotte trades: GH, Rozier, Plumlee, 1st or swap
Charlotte gets: Russ, Nunn, cash, 2nd rounder

I think we get too good a haul, but here's my thinking: Rob isn't walking away from an Indy deal without his man crush. My ideal trade target this summer is Turner. They say they're not moving him but would THT, a 1st from us, 1st from Charlotte (protected or swap) change that?...3 total, but one counts towards getting Hield from them. Charlotte gets off nearly all their bad money except Oubree. We don't get any defense on the perimeter, but create a dominant front court duo with Turner and AD. Both backcourt additions are bucket getters. We also avoid the Brogdon and GH's injury risks.

our firsts better be heavily protected in such a scenario. turner's actually pretty injury prone himself.

Agreed, Rob needs to be smarter this time. We already surrendered two lottery picks for AD, a number 4, and one tbd this upcoming draft. Can’t guarantee a playoff spot next season so we might be giving 3 lottery picks because the Pels will likely have a better record. if not for the Bubble Ring we clearly lost that trade:dwightcrying:

    1. it's just a ring. no modifications required. if milwaukee's ring from last year counts, then ours counts double.
    2. still no anyway. i mean, again, we're excited because the pelicans took two games off the suns minus their second-team all-nba sg. lonzo is injured (he's injured more than AD, tbh), and between the three of them (those two and hart), they make 70 million dollars next year. so that's your core. them plus darius garland, i guess? and factor in that lebron has already left in FA for a chance to win the ring that we so casually dismiss two years later (but hungered for desperately for nearly a full decade prior).

Isn’t Vogel a favorite for the Charlotte job? Doubt they make a move for Russ in light of his comments about Frank after his exit interview.

If Phil Jackson won a bubble ring or a shortened season ring, it would have counted full value.

This is a really good trade idea and makes sense to all teams involved. I’m super liking this post in case someone in the front office secretly goes on lakersball for trade ideas
