Maybe that incident from the idiot Raptors fan Russ met last night motivated Russ tonight.

It was definitely nice to see him have a solid game and make some big plays. I really really don’t like people harassing players when they are out in public. Glad to see some positivity around Russ.

Back to back good games for Russ. Been awhile since we've seen that.

It's like he's not aware what's happening around him at all. He randomly moves around, constantly leaving his man open, as if sleepwalking.

Since when has circling 2 of Westbrook games meant anything?

Let's not forget current on the year:

    PTS: 18
    REB: 7.5
    ASST: 7.1

    FG%: .436
    3PT%: .291
+ his usual 4 turnovers and lackadaisical defense.
Russ makes 1.14 pts per attempt compared to Lebron (1.39) or AD (1.34) Steph Curry (1.34) Kevin Durant (1.47) or Giannis (1.60).
The thing is his utter lack of consistency and reliability. You can't count on him in the 4th quarter or to hit that clutch shot. Whatever good game he has, he will counter it with two or three bad ones, how else will he maintain his inefficient stats.

I don’t get all the negativity. I think these past 2 games have made it abundantly clear: the Lakers have been holding Russ back!

He just doesn’t mesh with Lebron’s playstyle, and Vogel doesn’t know how to use him. When they actually let Russ be Russ, let him actually play PG, he’s still extremely productive. Triple double king, shows a knack for hitting the clutch shots. Dude has 23,000+ points on his career!

The other aspect of it is that the spoiled Laker fanbase has obviously inflicted some serious mental trauma on him. We’ve been abusive to him and his family, so obviously that’s going to explain some of the lapses in defensive effort. Why is he going to put his body on the line for teammates and fans that have tried to throw him under the bus?

I don’t know how many years he has left in the tank, but it’s clear he still has juice in the tank at this moment. Remember that highlight dunk against Gobert earlier in the year? That proves he still has monster athleticism.

So the fact that he’s on an expiring contract?! Man if I was an opposing GM I’d be salivating at the idea of Russ being on the trade block. You get (at least) a one year rental of a MVP caliber future hall of famer AND salary cap relief. Reminds me of CP3 with the Suns. No risk in trading for him since he’s expiring, but in the likely scenario that he becomes a leader for your team and catapults you to the next level, you can go ahead and extend him and suddenly you got a perennial contender on your hands.

You also have to consider that the Lakers have been decimated by injuries this season. If you don’t aggressively try to trade for Russ, you run the risk of the Lakers keeping him around and NO WAY you want to see that happen. Once they’re actually healthy, that’s a potential super team brewing with a core of Russ, Bron, AD, and Wenyen. So trade for Russ and you got a game changing PG for your team AND you break up a potentially deadly super team. 2 birds with one stone.

You seem serious but can’t tell.

Westbrook deserves every bit of negative attention he has brought on himself.
