Everyone is in damage control and Klutch is trying to wipe their hands clean of this. What a disaster.

Maybe all this will fuel Russ to opt out and just bail. Doubtful but I gotta hold out hope everyone involved just wants this to end.

Honestly I don't see him opting out or agreeing to a buyout where he gives up one cent of his money.

If we don't trade him and don't want to play him next year, I think we're going to have to send him home until he comes off our books. He's said a dozen times this season how much he likes being here in LA with his family and there's things bigger and more important than basketball. Getting paid nearly $50 million to take the kids to school and hang out with the family for a year...I think he'd definitely do that over giving up cash and going elsewhere willingly.

Still hoping for a trade because we need non minimum players on our roster and he's our only path to get them.

to be clear, I don’t see him opting out either. No way he gets that kind of money.

I think the family angle actually points toward him leaving though. His wife clearly isn’t a happy camper right now.

I keep telling myself that someone will want that contract at the deadline.

    i lol'd.

and i'm still not sure he doesn't give some cash back on a buyout if he's really that unhappy.

and if he's really happy off-court, why can't he just accept a bench role? that's what doesn't add up for me. he says the right things about how there's stuff bigger than basketball. so let it be. become the highest-paid 20mpg bench player in nba history and walk your kids to school in sunny southern california. at the deadline, we trade your contract and you retire rather than report. everybody wins. except the 2021-22 lakers. who just lose at every turn.

Never in my life have I hated being right this much.

This season is the absolute worst I've experienced in my 30 years as the Lakers fan.

All other years, I was able to find a redeeming aspect, a silver lining. Not this time. Even AR doesn't make it better because the idiots just wouldn't set him loose.

"Ugh" is the expression I used upon hearing the announcement that we signed that dude...

"f*** that" is all that I have left.

I might have been a little annoyed at giving such obvious bulletin material to a potential play-in opponent that has already had our number … but thankfully we’re shaping up to be in good position to miss the play-in game entirely!

    Compete?!

Is he that oblivious? Does he not watch himself on screen? You're not Daniel Day f***ing Lewis!

I wish someone would've slid him an iPad of these two lowlights and asked him if that's him "competing. "

He’s been saying they need to play hard since game 1. And then he goes out and doesn’t play hard. I think mentally he’s done with the game of pro basketball, I’m not even joking. I see no heart in him, no actual effort, no joy, he’s just.. there. What happens if he retires, does he still get all his money? Does it come off our books? Like genuinely, why would he want to return next season to this, to have to go through this every game, is it even worth whatever is left of 47 mil after California taxes?

WOW!! This SOB is giving everyone in the organization the finger. No f****** doubt he “feels” as if this is all the team’s fault …. his poor “numbers”. These plays where he literally stands and watches and makes it 4 on 5 for his teammates are maddening to look at. You feel like punching this SOB.
