I am sorry, "Westbrick" is disrespectful? STFU Russ. It's borderline playful and endearing.

honestly man, I've never seen anyone that has been paid and put on the pedal this much make a mess out of simple post passes or just simple passes.

Like, I really dont remember him doing this on previous teams. But I've only watched mainly laker games for the past 5 years.

Also, just having basic common sense or basketball IQ (if its lack of IQ its pure selfishness) like so many times we got monk or melo that was hot and needed a heat check in crucial crunch/momentum changing moments.

Only for him to just pull up 4 seconds in to the shot clock for a horribly bricked 3 or post up from the FT line and just brick or turn it over by a bad pass. We just miss that oppurtunity.

I just have a hard time believing that a vet like him can't see that and instead just trying to force his dominance into the game. I mean its been clear that even if his role was changed, he never bought it 100%.

Like hes doing it half assed because he doesnt want to play that way and I felt that way since the beginning of the season. His entire lack of defense was just appalling, especially getting on reaves for defensive mix ups when hes there doing nothing.

I've never seen an aging star this bad that I can remember.

    it's a deep burn!!!

i like it. i suppose he could have continued in earnest with "sorry, please tell me what exactly you were thinking then" before throwing the hammer down, but this will suffice.

you don't have to be a jerk to reporters because fans are jerks to you.

The thing is he was always like this after his sophomore year or 3rd year.

i never liked it, like what do you expect and why are you acting tough/hard against reporters? Unless they did something out of line.

I thought he’d be smarter to do that in LA. He can get away in OKC and other markets but man you best know a franchise like the lakers the whole city is watching.

Lebron's silence on sticking up for his teammate is deafening. Not surprised.

Russ is playing poorly but that doesn't mean he and his family shouldn't be treated with dignity.

Somehow pulling a Lebron critique as one of the main takeaways from this Russ situation is honestly a little strange to me.

Lebron often has his namesake twisted into a childish insult against him. LeGM, LeBum, LeMickey, etc.

Why do I get the feeling that if Lebron had complained to the media about these insults and tried to make it about his family, you would have had a different reaction?

That wasn’t the first response that the reporters said. He tried to answer in a less confrontational way a couple times but Russ kept throwing the question back at the reporter.

I should've been clear. Russ should realize Westbrick nickname is a play on his horrible shooting. Verbal threats of harming family members is bothering Russ and thats where I especially see Lebron failing to stand up for a hurting and suffering teammate

Heckling about Lebron and Russ basketball related jokes are fine by me and is part of the package playing in this league.

But even if the Westbrick name calling isn't that serious Lebron needs to say something to support his teammate, who is clearly bothered by this. Or is Russ joining a long line of players that Lebron cant find use for his self serving purpose anymore?

I don’t think anyone has said anything up to this point. If no one ends up saying anything then that says something about him and how well he fit into the team off and on the court as well IMO.

i mean, did reporters ask other players about the situation with russ getting death threats? i don't expect the players to come out on their own and say something. maybe on social media. did anyone on the team say something when green was getting threats after missing that shot in the finals?

although it wouldn't surprise me if russ simply isn't popular in the locker room

This is what’s called shrinking in the biggest stage, it’s like he developed the yips after wearing the Laker jersey

Nah: he's always been an awful IQ ballplayer but he was an otherworldly athlete. Now that's a he's lost a lot of that athleticism he's just not that good.

ok, that makes sense. it's actually a good question, too. you hate your role, so what was your role supposed to be? what's the thing you thought you'd be doing that you're not? why would that lead to wins and why did the coaching staff disagree? also and finally, will you just stfu already?
