Basically a repeat of the Nets game where Mills just took a few steps and was wide open. I just don't know how you fix this and it's why I can't stand the whole "all out effort" persona he's managed to create.

right. same reason all the "sacrifice" talk chafed me earlier this year. that's not sacrifice.

He sacrificed he just can't play defense or make layups. We were willing to deal with the missed jumpers, but Jesus, this guy misses everything. Everything!

He’s been playing this way since game one. It’s not tanking- it’s who he is, a very selfish, stat stuffing waste of space.

I don't care what guys say: Russ would be a great tank player.

Too bad we don't have our pick.

You fix it by playing him ten minutes a game, off the bench, until he starts trying on d.

He's been worse. His last 3 games he has shot 27.5% overall averaging 10pts, 16% from 3, 53% FT. He is noticeably static on D, standing around and watching his man score, missing gimmies at the rim and turning the ball over. All that in 33 minutes per. Dude should be getting 15-16 minutes a game until he earns to play more. Give Monk 13 attempts he gives you 22 points, not 10. He's hot garbage been saying since the trade, not that that is news.

But you will never see an Austin Reeves or a Stanley Johnson do that on D. They never stop moving. Some dudes feel entitled to slack off and let others handle it due to their offensive production, Russ feels that way without the benefit of being worth a damn offensively either.

If you look at his teammates and coaching staffs reaction to some of these, especially the most recent ones. They seem just about fed up and at their wits end with Westbrook.

OMG. Hilarious and tragic at the same time because he’s a Laker. The music’s perfect …. like an alternate Yakkety Sax. That’s all this season, un f****** believable. It’s probably only about a third of his most egregious lowlights.

i can't think of a more unwatchable season in which the lakers were expected to do something in recent memory. even in the disappointing 12-13 season you had kobe putting the team on his back every night

And to think there’s someone in here who still thinks we are better of with him than three former VERY RECENT Laker Champions and a recent Sixth Man of the Year.

    Okay, here’s the solution:
Bench Russ and play him every other game for only ten minutes.
He will be so pissed that he will opt out this summer.

I hope Russ can get it together and prove all of us wrong to end of this season and into the playoffs. I've never understood the happiness of fans cheering a player of their own to fail.

It's basically the sports version of political accelerationism. You root for a player to suck, so that the team suffers further and when things get so bad, the FO will be forced to deal with it.

There's obvious problems with that, but that's what it is.

I’m not cheering for him to fail. I just have witnessed him consistently contributing to losses, so I feel he should spend less time on the court. As per their current actions, so does the coaching staff. The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results. It’s not hate, it’s just science.

Maybe we can trade him for the corpse of Loul Deng and the ghost of Timofey Mozgov.
