Can't wait. I am hoping he and Bron can come back at the same time, now that we have Jax back. It will feel like assembling Voltron:
i guess i hadn't noticed that the injury was tendinopathy. it's probably going to be an issue for the rest of the year then, as it's really just rest and PT that solves it. hopefully, the more stretched-out playoff schedule will help him keep it at bay.
I just wanted to say he looked great last night during warmups. Moving and shooting well. Played 3 on 3 successfully. He just needs to ramp it up in limited minutes before the playoffs so he can build some stamina. The knee problem isn't going to go away before summer, because - as abeer said above - that simply requires enough rest. Unfortunately for us we can't quite afford it, but it seems he can play just fine and is listed day-to-day. Honestly, I'd give him a chance now since he is eager to play... limit him to, say, 18 mpg, and see how it goes. We could use his size and shooting for sure. Did Bron say anything about targeting Saturday or Monday?
I say rest him and LeBron till one week before the playoffs. We can hold the fort with what we have now. As long as we're in the playoffs not play in then I could care less about seeding and more about health
^ I'd be with you 100% on that, but one week is not enough to build any kind of stamina you need for the playoffs. Nothing can replace motions you do during an actual game. Coming back at some point next week, even in limited minutes, would do the trick and make us much more dangerous. As long as they are actually cleared to play. Otherwise, they should not be coming back at all.
Why bring him and Lebron back together then if this is true. You might as well stagger the returns to give him more time off.
Because he needs to build up stamina. It's not happening while rehabbing in the gym. There is a very good reason for all this. He's not going to be great right away, but the more he plays, the better he's going to be in the playoffs.
He won’t be back to full strength without most likely 3-4 months off. But it’s not like this injury just sprang up one day, most likely he was dealing with it for 1-2 months before we shut him down. So I’m still optimistic he can be a contributor throughout this run
