I noticed during Lakeshow highlights on YT, he didn’t get up to cheer when shots were made. Maybe it’s really bad. I have a tendency to look at reactions of fans, coaches, bench players when our shots go down during highlight reels/videos. Rui just stayed sitting, didn’t move a thing. I will be the first to admit that I’ve been extremely hard on Rui, saying he is very inconsistent, has no IQ, and doesn’t specialize in any one thing. I always knock on him for not being a rebounder or a 3 pt sniper (I still wish he would be above avg in these areas, or just one of them at least). I sincerely hope he gets better soon, but doesn’t rush it. He seems to have left a decent sized void with his 15 ppg, and ability to space the floor. His timely cuts to the basket have been missed. Get well soon Rui!
Consistent and comfortably over 40% all year (41% current) on over 4 shots a game not doing it for you?
He's our best shooter and a legitimate 3 level scorer. I'm not sure if we are talking about the same guy.
Rui is an important cog offensively. Lebron, Luka and Reaves bend opposing defences with their attacking, shooting and playmaking. It's really important to have someone like Rui that can just hit the 3 and attack open space. Defensively his strength has been useful defending bigs (alongside Lebron) when Hayes sits. We'll miss him for the next 2 weeks.
We need Hachimura at full health. He fills the stat sheet across it. I don't have any reservations we can we win on the road even if we don't have home floor advantage.
I’m glad some are seeing how important Rui is to this team. His floor spacing along with his big body on defense have been missed.
We’ve missed Rui the last few games. I know I was asking for his benching, but his shooting and ability to attack off the dribble is super helpful offensively. I hope when he gets back he is in the same flow as he was before the injury.
End of the month or early April is my guess. I think I speak for all Laker fans when I say, please don’t rush the return. Do not return unless you are 100% healthy Rui. It’s clear we miss him out there, especially for a game like tonight.
