Good point. I wonder if Cuban would have the nerves to back out of that Mathews agreement in favor of tanking.

^If I was Cuban I'd do it. I'd assemble the most s*** team at the league minimum salary expenditure, tell Wes to go rehab his Achilles and call it a day. Doesn't Feagan represent Matthews too?

What's the hold up with the Hibbert trade? Any chance it gets finalized tonight? :sweating:

I'm refreshing Twitter. Hoping the silence means it's a done deal...or maybe Larry's catching the zzz's till the morning.

Wouldn't that be even more damaging to the franchise? No future FA's would want to negotiate with them any more.

Anyway this is getting off topic.

It would. But as a business let's say you were building a product.

You order Part A from a company because it's going to help you build the complete product. Knowing that you have Part A in tow, you make a deal for part B, being that Part B is compatible with Part A and the two would work together to build your product.

Now that Part A has decided to back out of the deal, Part B all of a sudden isn't an ideal fit. You don't necessarily need it. In that sense, if Matthews was part of their ultimate plans with DJ....he might be all but useless in Dallas. He might not even want to be there anymore.

Yep. You'd imagine they just needed small details to iron out by knowing exactly where's e cap stands. The longer this drags on the more worried I'll be.

Still nothing? Im not the biggest Roy fan but this would set us back... AGAIN. FFS sign the damn contract already. I wouldn't put it past Cuban and a former C bag to f*** us over though.

I think the silence is a good thing. It means the teams are talking to each other. Not to reporters.

    Hi all, first post here.

I don't think that Indiana would be given much incentive to renege on the deal and move Hibbert to Dallas. They have very little in the way of assets, and can't trade a 1st Round pick until '18. I suppose they could trade Justin Anderson, but are you really gonna do that for one guaranteed year of Hibbert?

It would need to be a considerably better deal than what the Lakers are offering to be worth the bad, league-wide mojo that it would create for Bird & Co, and I don't think Dallas has the pieces or desire to do that. The hold up has been how to fit Hibbert's trade kicker under the cap, and they finally got some clarification on that today, with the $70M figure. I'll be surprised if it doesn't get done tomorrow.

Im 90% sure DJ stays with the Clipps. Question is (because i know Bird will try to send Roy to Dallas), will Cuban go in to a "tank mode" or will he give it a go with Hibbert. It's all in mark's hands... and this makes me nervous.

NBA.com reported Jordan is staying with the Clippers. I hope this doesn't screw us. Man, I'm sweating a bit right now.

Guys chillax... Roy will be a laker, this is all business talk right now, I bet they are trying to negotiate who to send and which 2nd round picks, the cap went up so it's all math right now. Tomorrow I feel confident it'll be done. Plus in the east coast it's pretty late lol. #calmdownyo
