Whoa. Creepy move from the Clips. Stay strong DeAndre!!! Didn't know this could even happen but I hope he keeps his deal with the Mavs.

The scary thing for Jordan and the Clips: Mavs didn't pursue trades and signings because Jordan verbally committed, which means that if he leaves the Mavs will be a weaker team and less of a draw. If that's the case then it could be argued that LAC and DAJ damaged Mavs brand, which could mean lawsuit. It's shaky, but with Cuban you never know.

Again, for the Lakers side of this, it could undo the Hibbert deal.

Cuban cried/prevented/had a hand in the Lakers not getting CP3. How's it feel b****? Pretty mad huh?

This is absolutely ridiculous. This is a horrible, completely shady move.

Actually I think in that instance, the three way trade with Pacers/ Mavs/ Lakers happens and we send them Lin/Hill I think.

This gets me thinking...I wonder if Mitch and Jim can maybe try to appeal to LaMarcus' emotions, and see if we can get a 3rd meeting...just kidding.

For the LAL right now the best thing is DJ going to Dallas. If he goes back on his word that could lead to serious complications with the Hibbert deal

In that case I'd actually prefer Gasol. We'd kidnap him from his Memphis home and brainwash. Not against league rules I'd suppose?

As I said in another thread , Pacers have no interest in damaging their relationship with the Lakers

Not just that, but Cuban has no footing for legal argument if he tries to get another team to renege on THEIR deal to support his team. Makes more sense to take a consolation prize from us in Lin/Hill/etc.

You're probably right. On one hand, the DeAndre drama is between a player/agent and a team, whereas the Hibbert trade is B2B.

Either way the DJ situation turns out, this stunt they are pulling can't rub the other owners in the league very well. It could hurt them in future negotiations with other teams, especially when you consider that Ballmer is a new owner, so he doesn't have as many established relationships with his peers quite yet.

Pacers just can't act like " now Dallas needs another C , we're going to negotiate with them , forget about our deal Lakers , F U" ... would be a beyond terrible business "move" in a league in which teams "help each other" on a consistent basis

Completely different scenes...Jordan and Hibbert. I don't see how one affects the other. Our agreement is with Indiana. I do find some satisfaction seeing Cuban and Ballmer experience angst. This potentially could be an ugly situation that Silver will have to mediate. Dallas have their "word" with Jordan...Clippers can say there's nothing wrong with us talking to him. An "unwritten rule" yes, but not in legal print.

Besides, the Mavs can really only offer the same thing we did. MAYBE Hibbert gets the Mavs to unload Anderson, but the Pacers really have zero reason to nix the deal. Besides, it's horrible form. Bird is above that.
