Rockets picked a perfect time to implode. If it wasn't for all of our drama, they'd be the talk of the town. Or at least more than what is getting coverage now.

yeah, where's the 24-hour clowning of their desperate trade attempts and botched coaching negotiations?

oh, that's right--morey owns the press cuz white nerdz.

Morey is a hero to the blogger press because he, like them, is a nerd who never balled?

    Also, he feeds them.

Well nerds pretty much run the world, from a business standpoint, and everyone else works for them.

yeah, i am one. i get it. the point is that this is a unique ecosystem. the have-not nerds that cover it think of morey as a messiah of sorts. it's like the nerd kicking the jocks' a**** with his guile. see, like, most 80s movies.

anyway, the problem is that morey's revolution subverts not just the narrative, but the sport itself.

nobody wants to watch the rockets. nobody wants to play basketball for fun like the rockets play basketball.

i'm with david west on this one, despite my general nerd status.

This, so much this. Basketball isn’t baseball, analytics and strategy only take you so far, and people don’t watch basketball for it to be taken advantage of and cheated, they watch because it’s fun, it’s fast, it’s high scoring, and until recently it was one of the major sports where flopping wasn’t heavily involved.

It's a sport, not a game. Focus on scrabble or something.

I was just thinking it would be funny if they traded Harden.

Like, what if Kawhi indicates to Toronto that he wants to leave, so Toronto asks him if they could do a sign and trade so that he could get paid more. So Kawhi to Houston for Harden. lol

Toronto would still be a strong playoff team even after losing Kawhi, which is a big win for them. And Houston would actually really be a contender instead of a pretender.

You know we joke and make light of the situation in Houston now but truthfully I really do hate to see any team have to go through internal problems like this since we have been there before with the Lakers. Especially the Rockets when it involves two of my most favorite non Lakers players in James Harden and Chris Paul, and them coached by Mike D'antoni and having their wonderful GM Daryl Morey .... after all they have done for the game of basketball.

I hate both teams, but a CP3 for Hayward swap makes some sense and works. We've all disliked Paul so long that he may as well be a C bag.

F the rockets...hate team number 1 by far in the NBA.

I don't even hate the C Bags players because guys like Jaylon Brown, Hayward or Tatum are likable...(guys like Rozier and Smart not so much). But on the Rockets I hate everyone.

hard to believe jimmy butler wants to go there still.

c'mon, bro. you know what's happening there. i don't care if harden's your boy, he's about harden and the glorification of harden, as is the entire rockets franchise, tbh.

Yeah me too. Already waxed euphoricly about mellow Jimmy breaking Harden's beak with a locker room sucker punch. Or staight out brawl.
