did i really just read that sacre might have value at the trade deadline? value as in a beer? maybe 1 dollar at most? if they traded sacre for a dollar i'd be beyond happy. this guy does not belong in the NBA and the fact that he's the second longest tenured laker behind kobe is both sad and hilarious. i really don't even think he'd have success in the d-league. hpw he's made it this long in the NBA is truly remarkable. leave it to byron to start sacre over black
He's a 3rd string center that we keep around cause he's 7 ft tall and comes cheap. He shouldn't be playing unless Hibbert, Black, Bass, Randle and Nance are all injured.
All of a sudden Black is getting more minutes. Maybe we were all wrong and the reason he wasn't getting minutes is the Front Office instructed Byron to play Hibbert and Bass to see if they could improve their trade value? Now that they have been "showcased" they can start playing Black? I mean, other than the hypothesis that Tarik plowed Byron's girlfriend, it might be the next best guess.
Trade showcase is the only thing that makes sense. The absolute only thing. It doesn't stop the fact that Byron randomly talked a ton of crap about Tarik all season.
Congratulations Bobs. No sarcasm and no cutting remark about you as a player, just enjoy this wonderful day with your new daughter. :Feelingyou:
Good ol' Robby Sacre provided exactly what a 3rd string Center is supposed to provide with 10 points and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes. I know most of you guys hate him, but I don't and I don't know why... He's a solid 7 foot body out there and last night he played really well when his number was called. I can't help liking this guy. I wouldn't mind if he was gone this summer, but I'd also be fine if he returned as our last big off the bench.
A Max contract offer is coming Just hope we can keep him If Byron wasn't holding him back He'd be tearing up the rim /sarcasm
I agree. I mean look he was 5 for 5 and is a big banging, reasonably coordinated center out there. Can shoot a J or a jump hook with decent form, just not consistently. I don't find myself cringing when he is in games unless it means Tarik Black is sitting on the bench. Rob's big handicap IMO is that he is not much of a leaper when it comes to vertical specs. He does seem to have decent hands. I definitely don't hate him like many. Would be fine with Black at 2nd string, with possibilities of Randle or, doubtful he comes back, Brandon Bass interchangeably (per a good coach's decisions) and Rob as 3rd string and insurance. He's always in shape and gives it his best.
People here got it all wrong. It's US that's holding HIM back. That man is a Madsen level bench goober. We are talking championship caliber 13th man. He should be in a place like Cleveland, where he can dance and dance as JR hits a heat check 3, up 27 in the 4th. All sarcasm aside, I always liked Bob and wish him and his wife the best with their new addition. Just felt like being snarky.
I don't hate Sacre at all. I just think we have seen what he is, he has hit his ceiling. Hell, he may have hit his ceiling in college. For me it's time to move on and give someone else a shot at 3rd string C. Get someone athletic, give someone with potential a shot, someone who hasn't already gotten all the potential they have out and done with. Sacre has at times been the reason Black hasn't played, that's holding someone with more potential back, and that's not good. I don't want to see that anymore, so I want him gone. I'm pretty sure if we have a 2nd rounder, we can find a new, more athletic, obviously younger player with potential to draft and stick in his place. Worst case scenario, that player is also a warm body to give us 6 fouls, a practice dummy, and good cheerleader, but at least we will have taken the chance.
I like Rob. He's cheap and a solid 3rd body off the bench. He's probably the bottom of the totem pole, but I'd take him back after we've upgraded the roster.
