I’m betting that rule has been there since way before instant replay became a thing. Get with the times, NBA. Reminds me of FIFA for years refusing to use camera tech on goals and offsite with idiotic claim of “that’s not how the game is played in the hood, so it would ruin the integrity”. Well, geniuses, the game in the hood is often played without other parts, namely refs, goal posts, correct amount of players and goddamn ball. Use the f***ing technology you dinosaurs.
Seems like an oversight within that rule for sure. Should have just replayed the possession. I don't know why that would be so difficult.
That gives them a free 2nd crack at it though. Maybe having the jump be right there in that key would be more fair. I wonder if he had caught the ball cleanly and gone up and scored with it and then they spotted that the clock started while the pass was in the air if they would have taken away the basket? Or just adjusted the clock some for the next play?
That’s one of the stupidest rules I’ve ever seen in any sport. Here I was ready to apologize to the refs though, for them having to apply it, but of course, turns out it was still their fault. These people never own up to anything.
Lolwhat? They said the call was made by their control center in the middle of some s***hole (yeah!) in New Jersey. So, they can't even do that right? f***ing morons.
Raptors may facilitate the task by choking as usual but do you really think the NBA is going to let a Canadian team go to the Finals ? Toronto better beat its opponents in a convincing way if it wants it to happen .
The refs are being protected by the NBA since day one. Coaches, players, GM's all get fined... refs? Zero accountability = idgaf about my job as much, as i would, if i could get punished for SUCKING.
If the media was not the way it is now you could play the Murica vs foreign team card. I hate hyped up narratives in general, just saying...
