That's what im saying We're about the same age... i also don't understand todays basketball. Been to a pickup game some time ago, played agains 5 Steph's... with another 4 on my own team. That's not basketball.
The novelty will wear off eventually--when teams keep amping up the practice of dribbling forever near midcourt then jacking. But right now, harden's makes headline sports center, and only saps who watch full games get to see the two misses for every make and the general stagnation of the action in service of those fairly lame highlights. Harden's a good but not great shooter--imagine when some others start getting the green light to shoot 20 threes a game. Imagine how many are out there practicing this right now. Unwatchable long term.
I’m 26 and pick up ball sucks now. I mean I bust my a** playing defense and never get the ball on the other end cause some guy thinks he’s Curry/Harden but shoots like Ball.
I tend to fight guys on my own team. Not many people wants to play with me but the ones that do, they usualy win We play D, we play slow, we pass a lot (way too many turnovers though).
I think the NBA has had fairly solid leadership that has led the game in an upward trend for decades now. Hopefully they will continue to morph the game, but I'm with you guys, 20+ 3's by one player in a game is just absurd. It's a great skill, but not as much fun to watch as an entire team moving in unison to create opportunities.
this is why iso ball continues to live, imo. it cuts down on turnovers (unless you're harden, and you can continue to break your own TO records each year...)--particularly of the live-ball variety, which are killers. i think durant going to gs was bad for the league for many reasons, but one of them is that gs became a villain instead of a hero. they should have been a hero: homegrown team thriving through team play and blending of unique talents.
Pre Durant GSW was my second team to watch, sometimes the first considering how bad we were. Unselfish ball movement with everyone knowing their role and buying into a championship run. Then they got cocky when Durant came aboard and then Green got annoying.
yeah, just so many bad things about that move. really wish durant had gone elsewhere, for him, them, and the rest of us. i wonder if cp3 forces his way to houston had durant not gone to gs.
this is a bold idea this is a bad idea the referees are not good enough I see nothing but a downside for this for the refs tbh, and I'm surprised they are agreeing to this. bold move by Silver
I guess it's a referee plague or something. A ref (hell yeah we'll take it) .... just handed the Rams the Super Bowl with a blatant no call on clear pass interference just over a minute to go on the Rams' like 15 yard line. The NO receiver head butted full contact in the air like 1/2 second before the ball gets there. That would have been game over. Earlier a little bit another clear pass inference with NO receiver being wrapped up and held clear as day and no call by the ref. How the **** do those NBA type bad calls happen on that stage?
