the guy's a snake and much less accomplished than the fanfare over the years suggests. when everyone wanted to fire rob, i was like why, so you can hire daryl morey? the AI stuff is whatever, but morris does a good job shutting down the idea that morey was the architect of a great team in houston. he made one good trade for harden (that was heavily wind-aided by okc's poor management--presti, btw--and then nba officials collectively losing their minds for five years) and was ahead of the curve on some creative contracts for second rounders that helped them fill out some rosters. but even with players trying to force their way to houston for years, he eventually burned through that good will by stacking lies in all directions (to players, agents, the press, etc.). i agree with morris that i always hated "how he moves around the game". slithers is the word, marcus. his brand has always been that he's the smartest guy in the room, and it's never been true. he may often be the cleverest. and that's different. loving his losing streak of late.
well, how much NIL money is Flagg worth?? I am guessing around 10 million. I would absolutely stay in school an extra year or even two to avoid playing on a shat team!
Whenever I see Durant mentioned, anywhere, I think back to the day he said he wouldn't want to play with Lebron because everything around him was a circus. Where is the circus now Kevin?????
I honestly was never a fan. Just didn't see what he actually accomplished with his approach. Always based on smoke and mirrors.
I think he can definitely make a lot with NIL money. I do think he will still unfortunately end up on bad team with a bad organization.
Honestly it is just nice to me to see some of the other organizations getting a fraction of the criticism we have received for the last...well...forever.
Saw the quasi-freak fall Steph took tonight. It was the kind of fall - on his tailbone - that makes we wince in sympathy pain. Looks very similar to AR's "pelvic contusion" injury he had on 11/29 against OKC. AR missed 5 games. Steph didn't get off the floor for a while and was in obvious searing agony-pain, hobbled off, will have MRI, etc. Jimmy gonna hafta step it up if GSW wants to stay out of the play-in. I think they can, because GSW has all their guys bought in on playing D, just like JJ has our guys all ratcheted-up. O! To be healthy up and down the roster! These days: it's a pipe dream.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44336315/trail-blazers-center-robert-williams-iii-knee-4-6-weeks dodged another one here, as i'm sure portland was asking for 9 first rounders or whatever. they're going to have a fun time trying to get off grant, etc. this summer...
Kinda weird: today, 3 home teams got beat and the visitors put up more than 140 points and we're not talking horrible mismatches on paper. Teams are getting shellacked at home and just giving up early in the 3rd Q. ATL goes into MIL and beats them by 21, 145-124. I mean, Dame is injured, but still. MIL is #6 in the East right now ATL is #7 but 4 games behind them. Lakers have had unfavorable circumstances in both our losses to MIL this year, and ATL has been kinda bad, except when they're beating CLE or BOS twice each. GSW goes into SA and takes a 68-44 lead at halftime, then wins the 3rd Q by 14. Final: 148-106. Sure, SA is banged up, but they've been playing teams fairly tough even while losing. A 42 point loss at home is rough, esp on the fans. My personal fave: HOU goes into PHO and wins, 148-109. Suns fans had to sit there and witness their team lose by 39. Dillon Brooks shoved KD early on and got tossed. KD gave 1 1/2 shoves back and only got a T: Dillon's d-baggery was too much for the refs and they tossed his azz. With any luck he gets a game suspension and we won't have to look at him at Crypto tomorrow/today. I won't hold my breath. Speaking of KD, looks like he sprained his ankle pretty bad with about 6 mins left in the 3rd. He hobbled off unable to put any weight on it. Looks like Book alone will have to do all the scoring while they continue to lose.
can't believe phx can't overtake dallas for the play-in when dallas a) has been absolutely decimated by injuries and b) could benefit from a higher pick.
I would've been interested in seeing their two big look in NY though. Not sure what they would've had to give up, but that's a mean team. It would've prevented that 90s Knicks vs Heat rivalry. Sliding doors moment: what teams fills that heat void or who do they throw their money at instead? Does Riley use that trade package ( Glen Rice, Matt Geiger, Khalid Reeves and a '96 1st) at the deadline or the off-season to go get Shaq?
This f***ing guy There's just a complete lack of awareness, given his history. Could have been the face of the league. Instead of them angling for ANT to be that guy.
Talk about a player that’s brain dead. How many times do you have to get in trouble for the same thing to learn a lesson?
