Suns fired Monty Williams one year after he won Coach of the Year. In a sane world the GM that little pinhead James Jones should've resigned. Look at that POS team he built.
This f***ing idiot hasn't learned anything. NSFW: LANGUAGE The team and the league did nothing to help him or force him to take any of this seriously. Disappointed in all three.
Im shocked that this 10 hours therapy/counseling didn't help LOL. Silver will find a way to make this go away again, Stern would can his a**.
The Florida weekend retreat was a joke. Almost as big of a joke as them counting his time away towards his suspension. Would've thought costing himself some supermax bonus money might have woken him up... but nope.
Do you hear that everyone? Ja Morant is suspended - SUSPENDED, I tell ya!!! ...from aLL tEaM aCtiViTiEs ...for 4 months ...until training camp starts!
omg legit cry laughing. i love that sheep clip. that's the energy i want. that'll learn 'em! just like the last time! *cue sheep video*
Out of the 36 players to have been awarded the league MVP trophy, Embiid is the only one that's never made the Conference Finals.
Sheed dropping truth on Doc's "coaching" Houston could go from the bottom to a playoff team (that'll get embarrassed when it's time for Beard to lead). If he's coming, they have to clear up that guard rotation and there is yet another young guard potentially coming in with their top 4 pick. I think abeer speculated they could ship one of the guards + that pick for something. Wonder what big that package could fetch them. Looks like he has his fall back team too... Not sure how that could work out financially and roster construction wise. Also, KD and Harden.... really? Again?
this is a longstanding trend. my theory is that COY is always about overachieving your talent, and regression to the mean leads to subsequent firing. the coach didn't get worse; it's just hard to continually overperform your talent. jenkins in memphis keeps doing it, but not by enough that he gets the award, so his job is safe lol. yeah, as long as it's not #1 overall, they could get a very nice player for porter or green + a top 5 pick, imo. enough that houston is a playoff team with that guy, harden, and what's left over. that said, i'm not sure about it. i think it's possible harden is done as top 2 guy on a good team. his poor physical condition is catching up to him, and he doesn't seem the type to suddenly find fitness jesus in his late career.
This makes a lot of sense, and overachieving your talent may be a big part of it for many cases, but in general I think it's mainly about high expectations and then being a scapegoat, hence all the championship coaches who have been fired. Whether a COY or championship coach, that accompanies having a really good team with high expectations, and when those expectations aren't met, the team almost always does something: trades a player, adds difference making players, or fires the coach. We all know that firing the coach is the easiest one to do, so the FO usually does that.
