And this is why people hate KD. It's a shame. His game on the court is poetry in motion (excluding the Boston series) . But everything else makes you hate him and impossible to root for. I really think it's going to hurt his standing in terms of all time greats because he's alienated nearly everyone who's ever written anything about basketball and those are the same people he'll need to remind people about him when he's done.
38% vs. 37% from three for their respective careers? and brunson has graded out better defensively the past two years. fvv signed for 4/85 when he was producing less than brunson is now. i think brunson gets 4/100, maybe with a player option and a partial guarantee on the last year. but if some other team comes in with a crazy full max offer, i'm not sure dallas has a choice but to match the money. i think he's the #2 offensive player on a team that's going to the second round of the playoffs in all likelihood. you can't just let that walk. he'd be a GREAT pairing with a guy like AD, imo.
What volume from both? Are you saying yould you give him 4/100 if you were the Lakers? A Max?? That would be crazy, but I won't go on record saying it won't happen with some crazy salaries we have every year
mikal bridges makes 20 per for being an elite three and d guy. his brother is going to get 4/100ish this summer. i think that's brunson's market, especially after he's carried a load in the playoffs so far (which was a problem in previous years, iirc).
That's a different type of player and we both here pray it a lot that 3&D's are on high demand. Mikal had a great year, there's potential there to be an all-star. I don't see that in Brunson. We'll see what it does next years. Again, I think he's really good, not 20+ level
Hawks and the Bulls are the only teams in the playoffs we could've beaten. Maybe the Jazz if we're healthy just because we match up well against them. Against anyone else it would have been ugly. All these teams look far and away better than us.
yeah, lost amidst the love is the fact that minny was *this close* to taking a 3-2 lead on memphis's home court. had memphis faced a veteran team, they probably lose in round 1. and morant's had 2 good games and 3 pretty bad games, tbh. i love watching him, and when he's on he's incredible. but he's also off a lot.
When KD started to show he couldn't handle being on social media, I realized my suspicions that he's juvenile and entitled were true. His game is poetry. You're right. If you were a mad scientist who was tasked with making the ideal basketball player body, you might look at all the data, and invent KD. What's his wingspan? 7'5"? That's crazy. I remember when, in OKC he talked about how Seattle got robbed and needed an NBA team. I thought that was cool. Ever since: he bugs me. Man up and learn to IGNORE haters on social media. Be cool. Too much to ask? I guess so. Also: learn some humility. What? He doesn't read LakersBall.com? Ok then: my bad!
dorian finney smith and jae crowder are good wing defenders and respectable shooters who make a lot less. i actually think 20 million is a lot for a guy who can't create shots or switch small to big on defense. and i chose bridges because everyone seems to agree he's worth it. there are others making near that number that everyone would agree are worse than brunson. anyway, my point is that brunson is 25 and outproducing guys who people happily pay that salary to. so he's going to get it. and if he doesn't get injured, he'll be a tradeable asset on that deal for the life of it.
