This didn't get discussed, but this makes overpaying him on the extension look much worse. He already has quite the injury history and now this?... First back problems and now nerve damage. I'm no doctor, but I think those tend to linger and if he's having those issues at 23 I don't think he's going to make it to 33 in the NBA.
I love the way Morant plays and hopefully its not a bad injury, dude has been killing it this season. He might need to reconsider attempting to posterize everybody in his way though, he might end up like D Rose
everyone thought denver got a steal in the draft at the time, and i was like...back problems, y'all. then he played like, one good season and got a huge contract, and everyone's like "he's durant!". and i was like...back problems, y'all.
Yeah, I'm not sure how much salary you make contingent on goal based bonuses, but the only way I hand him a deal that big is if there are some massive games played requirements. To get the full amount he has to log at least 70 games
All's right with the world in the NBA with a couple constants you can always rely on. Kuz's whack idea he's got cutting edge fashion sense ..... And LaVar doing what LaVar does. “I dropped them a superstar in the G League and they don’t know what to do with him,” https://www.yahoo.com/sports/lavar-ball-hornets-don-t-165506305.html
I think LaVar, for all his BS can walk around proud. Two of his sons are excellent players, with one having the potential to be a star.
i mean, he can be proud of his sons, that's fine. but i really think his antics did nothing to help them. he could have just been a nice, normal, supportive father and his sons would be in the same spot. he tried to profiteer off them when all he had to do was accept their forthcoming charity. i don't know; i just don't like the dude's public persona. and that sort of seems by design. everyone claims he's playing chess, but i think he's just an attention-seeking blowhard. like, if liangelo makes it in the league, it won't be because lavar pressured charlotte's g-league management or something. he just wants a camera in his face.
I said last season they were no joke but all I got was they were lucky in the playoffs. Added McGee to bolster the center position. Other teams were missing one star …. but still. Here you go.
can't it be both? they're good. and they would have lost to us with AD or the clips with kawhi. guessing they'll be without paul come playoff time anyway, so they should enjoy the early going. wall's not wrong. he's still the best player on that team. why don't they just buy him out, kemba style instead of awkwardly negotiating that he either not play or...i guess...not try too hard when he does?
Especially when surgery is involved. Is he going to lay down on the sideline for 10+ years like Nash had to do later in his career? Not to mention all the constant treatments required to keep the back loose. Before the game, during the game, after the game, off- days. They typically require constant attention. Maybe his isn't that bad and won't get that bad. I doubt it, especially considering the time missed already. Guess we'll see. Seems like an even worse contract, that's for sure
