unfortunately, the ratings drop could be from other factors. The whole thing is getting too hard to figure out. Probably easier to figure out who is going to be the scapegoat when it all crashes down on itself.
right? suns play one s***ty game, and i think we might have had enough to get the other one. meanwhile, mil and utah just folding like wrestling prop chairs.
The coaching carousel is wild this off season. C Bags, Blazers, Mavs, NO, Indy, Wiz, Magic, and maybe Milwaukee if they lose. I think Boston is the best opening. Carlisle should go there. He's been a top 4 coach for a decade. Not really sure what's going on in Dallas. With the bad press they've gotten this week... when there's smoke, there's fire. But I'm not sure the Carlisle firing isn't tied closer to butting heads with Luka. When you're the smartest in the room, it makes you hard to coach, especially if you're a cocky young kid. Bron was a coach killer with most of his coaches. It's been one of the darker clouds that he's had (rightfully so) over his head. That said, I still think Mavs are the second most attractive gig on the market. I think Cuban will go after a former point guard, someone who better understands Luka. I think Kidd and Billups will be in the mix. I don't touch the Blazers or Wiz gig. That coach will be a marked man from day 1. I don't think either star stays. Each will probably get to pick their next coach. Coach will be out in two years, tops. There's a lot of pressure with both the Pelicans and Mavs job. The stars aren't on the way out (yet), like in Portland and DC, but there are a few crumbs starting to pile up. Still think the Mavs one is attractive enough to overlook that. I think Bud would be better suited with a team like Indy. He can get you winning, in the mix. But he's not a championship coach. So if you have lower expectations, he's your guy. Would be a decent fit with Sabonis.
i was just laughing because they used the cash from letting horford walk to sign kemba instead, then just paid a first to get him back. contracts are the same length, though horford is a little cheaper. both are paid similarly to AD.
Yes the trade will allow them to save the 73 million owned to Kemba and I assume OKC will try to flip him for more picks. If the Lakers did this kind of trade the press would be killing us.
https://hoopshype.com/player/al-horford/salary/ ah--horford only has 14.5 guaranteed in 2023, so that's where the real savings occur. basically positions boston as a FA player in 2023 with basically just tatum and brown under contract plus the 14.5 in dead money for horford (or maybe they can bribe someone else to eat that). not sure it helps much for next year. i know they love peyton pritchard and all, but he's not walker--even injured/semi-available walker. and horford isn't horford anymore.
How many picks can the Thunder get before the draft? They have a Thanos/infinity stone complex. C Bags have needed front court help, but Horford is looking his age and that's a lot for a backup. Where does Kemba end up within the next year? Miami?
someone who's capped out and willing to spend a 1st. probably with other two-year deals on players they don't really want. that salary is quite large, and okc won't buy out until the last year, imo.
moses brown is a good pickup, but now they have brown, horford, williams, and thompson down low doesn't make any sense at all for boston
It wasn't that long ago when Horford expressed dissatisfaction about his time to where he is traded back. Actually, his wife said it for him. Ironic...
udoka's got a good pedigree. not sure why they didn't bring carlisle back home, though, almost too obvious? wonder if RC would do an assistant year for us if kidd takes a job (please kidd take a job).
