huh. i watched his first three stints and was like...ick...apparently he went nova after i went to bed. i'm impressed with his hoop iq over anything, tbh. i think his athleticism will decline until he can stay on the floor, and he'll have to work with his strength and smarts, which may be enough to carve out a really good career. i just don't see how he can stay on the floor as the rampaging beast we saw in college and the preseason, though. the human body has yet to prove capable of withstanding that kind of force. go back and watch early shaq, pre-lakers mostly. he moved much more quickly and ran harder. but he couldn't keep it up. just so much weight shifting directions so fast. what makes these types great also makes them vulnerable.

last year, it was to lose. this year, he made a zillion threes to beat us. but doing that enough times to make the defense respect it AND win those games might prove more difficult.

btw, if he does, then he's a firebreathing dragon that cannot be stopped, and you take your hat off to him.

i think the principles are fine--bad midrange shooters might as well just chuck from 3 feet further out--but your best players need to be willing to take (and able to make) the midranger when it presents itself. a kobe fadeaway was a better shot than an open three from several teammates. moreover, the best defenses will run the competent three point shooters off that line while protecting the paint.

funny thing with houston is that i think harden can, but he seems to have bought so fully into the philosophy that while it's pumping up his stats, it's ultimately hurting his chances to win against better opponents with bigger stakes.

i'm not sure he cares, though. i'm almost positive harden's first concern is putting up numbers. he just doesn't do things that players who care about winning do.

for example, i watched the mavs/clippers game the other night, and doncic was on kawhi on crucial plays down the stretch (even got a stop on a post attempt--should have been a turnover but his teammates weren't ready for the ball to pop free). harden doesn't want any of that stuff. and he doesn't want missed shots on his ledger, and he doesn't want to have to work on either end.

I haven’t watched them much, but against us he was drilling 3’s. Must be doing something right.

but you’re right, the playoffs are all about matchups. Looking forward to seeing what happens

Didn't know where to follow up with my other off topic post below that was under Vogel's thread. Here as good a place as any because Shareef will wind up in the NBA next couple of years.

Guess the answer is he's not thrilled with him or not thrilled with the program now under him.

He’s on a strict minutes restriction, they’re not thinking winning one game, they’re thinking take great care of their franchise player. And this kid is a game changer for them, they’re wise to make sure that body is monitored to hold up.

0 - 2 with Zion back. It's clear he's a cancer and now BI is sulking. They're done.

It’s not a rumor. It’s an article you wrote with a terrible idea. Two very different things.

Hayes is going to be a great player... I wish we had him.

This is the kind of fire you want to see on your team as opposed to kids shrugging their shoulders and passively accepting it

He's nineteen... he'll grow out of it but I'd rather a player genuinely irritated as opposed to apathetic

Cmon Meat, his response over a rookie game that no one will care about is outrageous and entitled!

I don't think he's smart enough to realize that the "politics" that he's talking about involves none other than his teammate Zion.

His apology also looked like it was written by his agent or some PR department.
