if harden scored 50 by making 20 shots from the field and 5 FTs instead of literally the reverse (like he did last week), you wouldn't hear me yapping. go find how many games in his career he's had like last night's game. actually, there are a lot. but just watch a game on a local, non-houston feed. the fans aren't impressed, and announcers are just defeated by the foul calls and the way it forces teams to have to deal with him. again, there's a reason you don't see the stands in opposing arenas filled with harden jerseys, despite him averaging nearly 40 points and repping taco bell.
I feel like you just confirmed what I said, but then acted like you disputed it. Did I misunderstand or misinterpret? Are you saying Harden's contemporaries admire him? I'm not seeing it. More like disgusted by him. (And not just because of his flopping insect infested beard)
fred vanvleet was just singing his praises the other day. part of this is that it's not honorable to trash talk other players in the press. the nba is a fraternity in this respect, which is part of why beverly and joel embiid are noteworthy in their public personas. i'm certain many are privately annoyed by him, but very few go on record calling out his bufoonery. anyway, i agree with your general point just disagree that we have evidence players hate him. we have evidence that fans hate it, and we have evidence that opposing announcers hate it.
We really need to stop the Bucks or our 33 win streak is in serious jeopardy. If Dallas can't beat them... then the only difficult team they'll face is Philly. Boston would play them for game 34.
There are videos of players visibly disgusted at him and his antics. I guess I was counting that even if they didn't bother to say anything in an interview. Because it made me happy. And it aligns with how I feel.
"I mean, I don’t know. It’s a lot of stats going on. I think it’s a little bit too much stats." @Weezy probably.
Those are some really good stats, but Luka is also right. Stats are currently very inflated with pace of play, no hand checking, James Harden type fouls, teams shooting more threes than layups, etc.
Yeah, and Harden just did it again today. 54 points, 19/31 shooting, 10-15 from 3's, and 6-6 FT's. 109 points, 20 3's, 11 total FT's in his last two games.
great, just be here when he goes 8-28 and 2-15 (which has happened just as often if not more often). feel like i only hear about him (and ingram, for that matter) when things are going well. but again, if harden did this more and the other less, you wouldn't be hearing the complaints. i'm not sure people why people don't see that the crowing over these games sorta proves the point.
Yeah, he'll have bad shooting games, but it seems that not fouling him didn't help the Magic either. But I do agree with you about his antics, it's annoying to watch and he doesn't need do it (as evidenced by these type of games).
Are you kidding? When's the last time anyone scored 50 points 4 times in two weeks? Wilt? Even if you subtract the 4 extra FTs he gets... he still would have had 50 points 3 times. I get why his play annoys you all but this is still unprecedented in the last 50 years.
