LAC’s Patrick Beverley fined $5000 for violating league’s anti-flopping rules for the 2nd time this season on Nov.22 vs. HOU.
all statistics that make harden look legendary are fed by his ft rate and ft conversion rate. his actual percentages are meh, and would be worse if he wasn't bailed so often on said FTAs. so, no, his "efficiency" doesn't impress me. compare it to antetekounpo, who is fouled because people HAVE TO in order to keep him from dunking all game long. he's not grabbing guys's arms and snapping his head back. respect there. oh, but he's tall, so...that's supposed to matter in some way...
There's now good evidence that Harden's calls are both far more preferential than other stars now - they're far more preferential than most stars ever. https://fullpresscoverage.com/2018/...d-what-it-all-means-for-james-hardens-future/ Some highlights: "J. Harden's values are so infalted that they make the sfd_twopa_ratio values of the other players (these are all superstars, btw) look laughable in comparison." "J. Harden shoots less two-pointers and more three-pointers than the other players. Figure 30.b shows that J. Harden's maximum sfd_twopa_ratio is nearly double that of K. Bryant and A. Iverson. His lowlight values would be ratios that the other players would dream of."
If you’re drawing FTs at an adjusted rate twice Kobe and AI, it’s not because you’re more aggressive. Because you’re not. Edited out an autocorrect!
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/james-harden-is-upset-at-always-being-doubleteamed-161322328.html Rockets’ James Harden on the attention he’s seeing: “The whole season they’re running doubles teams at me. I’ve never seen that in an NBA game where you’ve got really good defenders & someone else running at the top of the key. Y’all let me know the last time you’ve seen that.”
right. westbrook asked that we not normalize harden's greatness. why not? we've somehow normalized his treatment from the officials. to the point where people basically have stopped arguing the obviously bad calls due to learned helplessness.
There's a difference between normalizing his ability - he's good - and normalizing his greatness. His counting stats are great, but they HAVE to be normalized. Westbrook was a better player in his prime.
And freaking Luca is only 20. #betterthanwhiteBird? Though Larry Legend played both sides of the ball better at same age?
Luka’s a net positive defensively by most stats, I believe. He’s a top ten nba player right now, with room to grow.
Luka is just absolutely amazing man. The guy is rather slow and not very athletic. But he goes to the rim like a boss and always finds a way to finish his drives with high percentage shots and has an eye for teammates. Considering he is only 20 years old, it is really hard to comprehend how good this kid is and what his ceiling is going to be like. I mean even if he has hit his highest ceiling, thats like already a superstar. He can possibly be an all-time great if he can take it another gear up which is almost too hard to imagine.
honestly, if he simply sustains what he's done for the first two years over a 12 year career, he gets in the conversation with the all-time greats, production-wise. time will tell if dallas can build a winner around him--it took them a long time to get it right around dirk. hurts that they're not a FA destination.
Did anyone mention he’s white? it’s just.....so odd. multiple teams have a white dude as their best player. Dallas has KP and Doncic, we have Caruso, Boston has that one guy, it’s getting pretty crazy out there.
