No offense to Rondo fans everywhere .... but yay. Addition by subtraction still. He would eat into the Eagle's minutes who is thriving and on a roll getting better the more he plays.

Our defense would suffer without Caruso plus he does the same intangibles better than Rondo. He also chips in some points which is gravy. Still unfortunate Bradley is not here. With those two, our perimeter D would be even more suffocating.

He's going to get torched defensively...I am hoping he doesn't see the court again for us this season...

Rondo....the definition of useless. There is no playoff Rondo. That guy died years ago.

Shouldn’t be playing, he’s done. I don’t care if Waiters or whoever else is just as bad on defense, at least he can create shots sometimes.

Worst part, Vogel will let him do the exact same "thing" on Sunday.

On what merit does this guy deserve the 6th most minutes in today's game? What could he have possibly done to earn more minutes than Caruso all game? This has been a theme all year. I strongly believe Vogel is afraid of Rondo.

Rondo can turn the players against the coach with his negative attitude and Vogel keeps giving in to this guy

umm there was no need to work him into the rotation in the first place
I swear Vogel treats him like he's Chris Paul when he's a below replacement level PG

We are playing 4 on 5 on offense in Game 1 of the 2nd round. I thought we had enough game evidence from the last 2 years of Rondo's ineptitude.

Leading up to Lebron's great block, check out our offense. Paint is cramped and defense completely ignoring Rondo.

There has been mounting evidence all year and still Vogel plays him. Vogel is for sure terrified of sitting Rondo down.

To play devil's advocate for a sec...

Loss isn't on Rondo, it's on our two best players who were at best the 4th and 5th best players on the court last night (I'm talking about 2 of the 5 best players in the NBA got bested by Eric chubby Gordon). There's a lot more to blame to, but I'll save the for a more fitting thread.

Rondo ended a 4 minute scoring drought in the 4th by creating a play as soon as he came back in. He also hit either our last made 3s or one of the last (can't recall).

Bald Eagle spent most of the night in foul trouble, which was largely his own fault for not knowing how many fouls he or the team had when he picked up his 3rd during Harden's FT parade.

I agree playing someone 20+ minutes who hasn't played in 7 months isn't a great idea. Playing him next to Bron instead of backing him up, also not great idea. Quick side note: He has to change his shoes, those two early slips were embarrassing. Maybe Vogel is trying to rush him into game shape and speed and that's why he kept him out there against a sprinting Rockets team.

He didn't do us favors out there, but there are much bigger culprits for this dud of a game.

I refuse to play Devil's Advocate for Rondo. The dude all season just basically screws everything the Lakers are good at
Great bigs: can't play two of them together with Rondo because with Rondo the spacing is like having 3 non shooting bigs on the floor
Lebron's playmaking: Rondo can't play off the ball so he has the ball
    Caruso: Rondo takes his minutes
Kuzma off the ball game: Rondo kills that with his ball stopping.

This was a 1-2 possession game going into the end of the 3rd quarter: those Rondo minutes was when Houston took the game over.

This isn't the 80's or 90's anymore, NBA teams just hunt down your weakest link over and over again (see how the Cavs just destroyed Harrison Barnes whose at least a decent player by ignoring him on D, the Heat destroying Connaughton this year by hunting him down, Dallas going after Reggie Jackson, etc)

Still haven't made the choice to give up on Rondo, but its clearly all bad, and he never should have played that many minutes yesterday. Dude's has been off for like 6 months with a broken thumb, and Vogel trots him out into a R2G1 invitational bubble playoff.

Whether or not Rondo has anything left in the tank is another question, and everything was going against him. We was in no position to succeed. If Rondo asserted himself to that position, shame on him. If Vogel put him there (and he did) shame on him too. That was garbage.
