don't like this at all. and they're clearly not going to get anything of value back

if they're doing it to keep johnson or make room on the roster, i don't understand why they don't just cut bazemore or DAJ. unless rondo demanded a trade to seek more playing time

Based on what he said about his role during training camp, I don't think he's asking out. He seemed very happy just being along for the ride and coaching from the bench. He's up coaching more than the actual coaching staff.

Lakers should use this as a set up to acquire at least 1 or 2 assets which they can use for a potential Westbrook or THT trade

Im glad Rondo is going to be gone and more time for Collison now (or is Nunn coming back soon??)

This is stupid, just waive DJ. Why dump a great locker room guy and a player who can potentially give you a great performance in a playoff game?

I mean I guess I get it from his end, he’d get to join a playoff team with a 20-14 record, some really good young guards to mentor, and he gets to leave a borderline playoff team at 17–19.

    for stevens, windler, or valentine?

stevens has been a rotation player there, so that would be my choice. valentine impressed me early, but seems to have dropped off.

anyway, as i mentioned in another thread, i don't see this as a positive development, even if rondo generally isn't good.

Maybe Rob has a deal lined up with DJ or DJ with someone else or DJ with others going out?

I doubt we get anyone, this is likely the Lakers being cheap again. I never realized Jeanie was so strapped for cash.

It would be quite a heist if Rob can somehow snag a 2022 1st rounder out of this. That would be golden at that deadline. (Pipe)

Anyways here's a great breakdown from Trevor Lane and Keith Smith

Everyone need to watch this LN video on why we can’t just waive guaranteed players even when paid minimum while being a taxpayer or the importance of not f***ing around the off season with mostly over the hill players roster construction

I don't like losing Rondo: his value is that he has the balls to tell anybody including Lebron what to do and the respect for those to listen to him.
He's more of a coach then player at this stage

Was really hoping Rondo could be the Westbrook whisperer to keep him on track

Rather just cut DAJ or trade K9

It’s funny that the salary cap tax is working on only us, a premier franchise that doesn’t have rich owners. Although I assume in some ways it’ll impact everyone eventually, no one however rich is going to want to be paying 3-4-5x their over the cap amounts to retain talent.

Hopefully it spells the somewhat end of super teams.

if not, I’d like the franchise sold to a rich person whose identity is tied to winning sports stuff.
