He's a plus defender: I thought Lebron and him who actually gave Murray a challenge. Caruso and Kuzma made valiant efforts but Murray was able to go at them. Definitely seems to go 100% on defense in the playoffs and ups the effort. By getting steals that allows the team to get in the open court where Rondo is still deadly

If he can keep hitting that set 3 point shot when defenses leave him wide open that makes it hard on the defense as he's still a great passer and has the ability to get into the lan

Okay then instead of thinking about 2008 Game 2 from the perspective of feeling bad about Rondo tearing us up, I recommend channeling that into anger at how the refs screwed us out of a historic comeback!

Down 24 points half way through the fourth and we brought it back to like a 4 point game with a minute to go, but the refs kept the C Bags afloat with little touch fouls that they weren’t calling in our favor.

Then the next game the C Bags come back against us. And that’s what goes down in the history books as a historic comeback in the Finals, but it really wasn’t as crazy as what we were about to pull off the game before.

If they called the fourth quarter of Game 2 more consistently, I think we pull off that comeback and that changes the dynamic of the entire series. Likely converts that back-to-back run into another three-peat.

*sigh* sorry that game triggers me :D

If Kevin Johnson isn't hall of famer, Rondo ain't a hall of famer either.

Rondo obviously will have 2 rings to his name but come on he played next to far better talent in a guard friendly basketball time

This is the kind of motivation I love to see on our team. Pretty clear to me this is the type of motivation that has Playoff Rondo locked in. We are so close now, and I hope he can continue to fight claw and bleed his way to helping us win. Playing for his kids, playing for pride but not vainglorious arrogance or entitlement.

He knows what it takes to win and how you lose in the finals. He’s not gonna let us lose. Playoff Rondo will save us

I can never let that game go after all these years. Leon Powe had 13 free throw attempts off the bench, the Lakers as a team had 10 total

Which IIRC just happened to coincide with them having a special segment/sob story on Leon Powe at halftime even though he had really been a non-factor up until that point

I couldn't even finish watching that. Bob Delany and Danny Crawford seemed to always hate us.

Even with his 4 misses from 3 last night, he shooting 41% from deep this post season (in case you forgot, only shot 33% during the season).

    Coach Rondo...

Back to his antics. High fiving opponents (Butler) at the free throw line. Latter was probably thinking WTF? :) Kept the momentum going that had the lead balloon to about thirty.

Rondo is a perfect example of how we overrate regular season players versus experience. I'd take 20+ guards over Rondo in the regular season but in the playoffs, Rondo's value immediately skyrockets.

From the second Rondo entered the game midway through the first Qtr, The Lakers were in control.
Although he it didn't show up in the Box Score, his Veteran Leadership & experience was vital for us.
Miami better rethink throwing those gimmicky zone defenses at us with guys like Rondo on the floor.

I take back any negative post of mine from anywhere in the previous 100 pages of this thread.

Rondo has been amazing this post season.

Well, you will see more of Rondo next year. If we could just... somehow not play him during regular season, that would be nice. And it will save him from one or two hand surgeries as well. Win-win combination.

Yeah, he's fragile at this point with a hand injury or two every season. Vogel needs to not lean on him so much. I think the return of Bradley will help us in that regard or if we move a couple players for a better starting guard.

Playoff Rondo though continues to blow my mind. To say I was a doubter would be euphemistic in a big way. I was never a hater but I was hating his overall performance during the regular season for sure. Shocked but so glad to see him contributing in a HUGE way this post season. He has completely delivered.

I think he suffers from so many hand injuries because since his hands are huge, it's always in the way of something. That was the one thing I feared with Rondo, to be honest. One hand injury and he's gone for weeks. He could easily have been gone this playoffs because of it.

No sweat. He gets a lot of hand injuries but he heals quick. They always say 6 weeks and you prepare to forget about him, then all of a sudden with no transition time he's back on the floor in 4 weeks..
