I see the Spurs going back 2 in the hole but in Popovich I trust. Game 5 will the THE key in this series. Difficult series to call.
Well, Spurs are up by 5 at the half. Tim Duncan is 8/9 from the field for 16 points. He's been playing great on both ends of the floor. Kawhi's defense is insanely good too. He's attached to whoever he's defending. He's like their shadow. Geez.
I was just thinking about Kawhi and his draft day trade. Imagine him still being on the Pacers with PG on one wing and him on the other. That would be a crazy good defensive combo. Spurs absolutely stole him for George Hill.
That might be game. CP3 is really pissed. Teammates keep screwing things up, and Blake Griffin just had 2 costly turnovers at the end of regulation/OT. Spurs don't even have Parker or Ginobili right now. Edit: Lol. Duncan just said that was probably his worst 4th quarter performance in his career.
Really thought Spurs were going to lose in OT without Parker or Ginobli. Duncan turned back the hands of time for a great game, Kawhi was great as well.
The Spurs needed a road win to make this a series. They got one this early, which is great for them, but puts the Clippers in a bad position. I don't see the Clippers as a good road team. They were a mediocre defensive team throughout the season, and they can't even execute properly in the clutch on their home court.
This series had Spurs written all over it. It's in the experience. The talent is there for the Clippers, but Doc doesn't understand how to utilize it. He got away with having guys like Garnett, Pierce, and Allen being so deep into their careers with experience. But guys like Griffin, Jordan, are still going through their tribulations and exposing Doc for the garbage coach that he really is. Also, there is no place for this CP3 led Clippers team. A team that relies on one player to create for others, can be exploited heavily. It's no secret that teams like the Steve Nash Sun's, the Jason Kidd Net's, the Stockton Jazz, never were successful despite having illustrious stat laden careers. It's just not a good formula. You need players who can take over games themselves, and don't need to be reliant on one single player when it comes down to it. The Duncan's, the Kobe's, the MJ's, the Kareem's, the Shaq's. Interestingly enough, that player is Blake Griffin, who could be one of the most imposing offensive forces in the game. But since the offense flows through CP3, he doesn't have the opportunity to do so and will himself. On another team as the focal point, I think Blake can be that player. But I couldn't care less, Clippers can suck it.
Doc Rivers did a lot worse as the unofficial " Clippers GM" this summer/season ... Re-signing Davis and Turkoglu , trading for his son and wait for it ........ giving the full MLE to Hawes over Pierce
All I heard was tightness in achilles nothing more. But with a game every other day you have to wonder how much he can hold up. Good thing Patty Mills is ballin. Just read Leonard just won DPOY award. Deserved imo. Dude is a beast defensively.
Leonard is an absolute beast, but he missed 21% of the games this season. That is a pretty hefty portion of the season. Here are the official votes. http://official.nba.com/wp-content/...ensive-Player-of-the-Year-Results-2014-15.pdf Draymon Green got the most 1st place votes, but 41 voters did not list him at all. That definitely swung the votes in favor of Kawhi. Edit: LOL. Two people actually had LeBron on their ballots. One guy had CP3 and DeAndre Jordan on his ballot. Apparently, he thinks that the Clippers have 2 of the 3 best defenders in the league...
Watching how the Spurs have played this series so far and last night's game in particular made me realize that I hate popovich and the Spurs more than I want to see the Clippers go out in the first round again. They couldn't do anything except foul DJ and flop to compensate for turning the ball over to win. They're not doin it this year.
True. But we faced similar situation when Odom won sixth man while starting a good portion of games due to injury. Regardless I'd rather give it to him than to any clipper player. Plus I think Green is in the running for MIP.
I loved that game. Biff choking it up down the stretch not once but twice! I had to laugh with that first one he just bumbled away. That was priceless. I love seeing the Clippers lose. I can't help myself. I find their meltdowns hilarious. Seriously though, Duncan is all world. But we knew that. Vintage performance last night 28 and 11 and came up big in OT. That loss doesn't bode well for the Paper Clips.
Griffin also moved Diaw out of the way with his off hand to get off a shot which resulted in an offensive foul. That was another costly gaffe by him. Spurs did it last night without an ailing Parker and a disqualified Ginobili both of whom combined shot terribly. Splitter hasn't even seen any time on the floor. Two games at the Riverwalk... Spurs win those and they hold major serve. Spurs have the defense to play the Clippers up front. Leonard on anyone... Green on either Paul or Reddick. Duncan still capably mans the key.
